Same here my apologies as well, I did not properly read your post.

Still I think your preference is creditable. Although it's only based on your real world 'in-game' experience and not benchmark scores, I would say you are just as accurate if anything. Also after knowing your 460s are 768MB versions it puts things in better perspective.

All apologies accepted. No worries folks!
I knew I'm gonna get bombarded when I mentioned SLI beating single LOL!

That's my sole purpose of buying this card - to be able to unlock it. Otherwise, I'll just gonna shell an extra cash buy a 470 (not 460). I got 2 460s @ SLI and my golden baby beats them at my preference.
Thanks, now I just need 34 more, and I can post my current cpu + mobo in the for sale area!

I'll probably just put it on craigslist, because I don't see my rep going up to 35 anytime soon.

Haha you couldn't avoid getting bombarded to save your life in this thread

BTW I just noticed your overclock in your sig, you mean 800/1600/1800 correct? I don't think it would be possible to run 850 on the core at that voltage...because that'd be the only way to have the shader at 1700. Sure it was just a typo Also wanted to say that's a sweet overclock What do you use to test stability?

UPS needs to hurry up and get here with my 2nd GE card. I want to see what the voltage on this card is, and if it's unlockable!

You're right, it's a typo. I cannot make 1700 as a shader.

I ran Kombustor and 3Dmark06 and also my main yardstick is BC2.

Here are the settings and results;

850/1700/1700 @ 1.000v - kombuster stable (1hour), passes 3dmark06 AND GPU3 folding for 2 hours BUT failed on BC2 - was getting that white screen right before 2nd round begins.

825/1650/1700 @ 1.000v - same results as above.

800/1600/1800 @ 1.000v - stable on everything I threw in it. Folded for 48 hours and no issues whatsoever - completed 30+ WUs.

So I decided to stay on those settings and lower the voltage 1 step down (0.987v) and here it is now. Never had any issues for 4 days straight.

I was actually looking forward to lower the voltage 1 more step down (0.975v) and see if it holds up but I'll wait for 3 more days to make it a full week.

Currently doing GPU3 folding on this when I'm not gaming.

got my 2nd GE, it's #1410. Looks like it was one that _556_SIR_DRIP sent back. With stock gtx 470 tfr BIOS i'm getting a VID of .975 V, which is better than 1.012 of my #1761 card. I will have to run some stability tests to see which one is better.

@ _s3v3n_

Those are very impressive overclocks. Did you happen to notice the FPS in Kombustor for each of those clocks? Really want to know the difference you saw between the last two clocks. When I was overclocking it felt as if memory had a significant effect on gaining more FPS.

On a side note, did anyone else notice the clocks being set when using nvidiaInspector? If I set the Core to 800MHz even, nvidiaInspector will show actual core speed of 797MHz or something like that. Until I push it up to about 805MHz it all of a sudden jumps up and reads 810MHz. It's as if there are 'ranges' the core wants to be within. I was using this as a guide for overclocking and am wondering if anyone else is or noticed this.

how hard is it to make a custom BIOS with the clocks I find stable, and a different fan profile?
