That one on Amazon is $325... I think I'll pass. I will just get a reference 470 somewhere and deal with the little extra noise I guess
Wait, you bought it off somebody here, and they didn't tell you it wouldn't unlock? I'd be pissed, that is bogus. I just sold one that would unlock, but wouldn't overclock much, and at least let the guy know it's not an overclocker before I sold it to him.

To his credit, he never tried to unlock it, and I'm more than willing to give this particular member the benefit of the doubt on that one.

There's one on this site for $290..i've never bought anything from them, but it says they have them in-stock:

I don't know... I mean I can get reference 470's for less than that in the marketplace. And those are GUARANTEED to be 470s. I'm a little hesitant to take a risk like that again...

Does anyone have an idea as to the reputation of this company?

Have you thought about trying a RMA on the card? Just tell them it keeps crashing when you install the NVidia drivers.

That's not a bad idea, perhaps MSI will send you a new one.

Really? I would think they would pop it in to test it and be like, it has no issues, and send it back to me! lol

Do you really think they have a stable of these in reserve to send back to me?

I don't know, I've never dealt with MSI's RMA department before. I take it the card is perfectly stable when you have the 465 BIOS on it?

As far as I know...

But... when I play JC2 I do get random slow downs. My 4870 never had that problem. I'm just attributing that to physx though.

If it's stable on 465 bios, then, I doubt if they gonna send you a replacement card. Even if you send it to them at non-working condition, they will just replace the bad parts and send the same card back to you. I worked in a motherboard company RMA department for 5 years so take it from me.
