MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 425

post #4241 of 5083
I think an RMA is still worth a try. What is the worst that can happen? Right now you have a card that you cannot return and will not unlock without issues, also you have some issues running it as stock. I don't think you will be able to sell the card for what you paid for it. So basically the worst outcome is that you get turned down for RMA and are still stuck with a card that won't unlock properly.

I think it would be fun to tell MSI that your reason for RMA'ing it is because it won't unlock even though it has 10 memory chips and a GF100-275-A3 chip.

I never had random slow downs with my 4870 either. I could flash mine back to 465, and let you know if I see similar results.

I would flash it back to 465, and run OCCT gpu test, and do the error check on it, with the stock bios, and stock clocks, just to verify that the card is indeed stable.

If it detects any errors, I would definately take my chances on an RMA.

If you going to use kidwolf pack, I would test the cards one at a time as 465's with the memory set to 1848...I say this because if the cards cant run that memory speed (1848 stable) and you flash it with kidwolf pack your going to have problems...kidwolf pack=1848 on the memory and CAN NOT BE SET ANY LOWER!

Check your parameters. It should be;

nvflash --index=0 -4 -5 -6 s465.rom

but this command will just going to flash it to the same 465 bios i believe.

My flash looked like this:

nvflash -4 -5 -6 470.rom
