I guess I just needed some confirmation on how well it performs vs a real 470.

I may do a mild OC, and since my primary use isn't gaming, and rather video editing in Adobe Premiere, I really need something that will perform fully in that environment.

Noise levels and low temps are also very important to me.
These cards perform identically to 470's because they are real 470's once unlocked. There seems to be anecdotal evidence that on average they require slightly higher voltages to reach the same OC as 'real' 470's, but it's not 'proven' and it's not a huge difference. They run pretty cool and quiet for GTX470's, but they for sure are a bit hotter and louder than your average 460.

Hey guys, ordered one of these from Newegg.com last week, so within the next day or two I too will be the proud owner of a MSI GTX 465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition. Was able to get it at the $249.99 price while the 10% off coupon for GPUs was still active (only appeared to be a 3 hour window or so, glad I was looking!) so I was able to get it for only $232.86 shipped. Eager to get this thing unlocked and find out which number I get. Cheers!

Hey, has anyone else had any white splotches with theirs while playing games such as New Vegas? Only a few games give me problems, and any tests such as furmark or 3DMark all come out with not artifacting.

Hey guys,

Does everything on these screenshots look ok to you?

The seller says he has the card as a 2ndary card with a 5970 and has hardly been used, and thus CUDA, PHYSX & Direct Compute are disabled.

I'm still debating between this card ( already unlocked to a 470 ) or MSI N470GTX Twin Frozr II, which right now is a $70 difference.

Has anyone bought one of these since they reappeared on Newegg? I'm wondering if they are still unlocking with this latest batch on the egg...

Also wouldn't these be a better buy? MSI N470GTX Twin Frozr II $265 after rebate

I'll let you guys know the results when I finally get it and install it (I work evenings, and the UPS guy seems insistent on coming after 7pm even though I'm home all day).

Also, anyone have any personal experience with NCspecV81's modded BIOS? Curious how it holds up to grunion's.

I am currently using NCspecV81's modded BIOS , it is the stock gtx 470 twin frozer bios , but it has the voltage uncapped ( meaning you can set it higher that 1.087Mv). This bios gave my card the lowest temps.

As for grunion's bios , if i remember correctly this BIOS uses 1848 Mhz on the memory and i think most of our cards cant handle it. So you would need to set it back.

Between these 2 i would choose NCspecV81's.

The Twin Frozr II is a very impressive cooler, so when it comes to noise and temps, there's nothing to worry about!

However, if you can afford the $70 more for the reference Twin Frozr II GTX 470, then I say go for that. My reason is because reference 470s should overclock easier than these Golden Editions because reference 470s were binned as 470s!

But I can't ignore one simple fact: with a Golden Edition card, you not only have a card that's absolutely full of bling, but it's a limited edition! Plus, it's neat to say that you have a card that was binned as a GTX 465, but now it's a GTX 470!

I'm using a BIOS of grunion's (the one with the 1.21V max.), and I think I got lucky: my card works fine with the stock clocks of 700/1400/1848. I even have my core overclocked to 765!

What is your voltage ???? If i recall you had 1.100 right ??

In your opinion what do you think is better to overclock the core-clock or the memory???

I am able to pull out 825/1740 with 1.075 but i might turn down the core in order to achieve more on the memory. I might be pushing too hard on one side.
