I got mine from Newegg about 10 days ago. The first thing I did out of the box was pull the cooler off and look at the GPU (G100-275-A3) and the number of mem chips it had (10). Put the cooler back on , installed it, and did a benchmark on sandra 2011 lite. I then flash the bios with the Romainian link I found in an earlier artical found on this site. Schuzam!! Got a full 470GTX.
I benchmarked it again and got a 20% increase. I tried the Nvidia 260.99 driver and got better preformance, but it screewed the pooch on the DirectX 7 game I play (Diablo) so, I had to back down to the 258 driver. The card is really nice Eye Candy. It does have a bit of weight to it, ain't nothing a little creative enginering can't fix. The thermal compound was thick, dry and play dough like. I think I will clean that mess off and use a thin film of Artic Silver 5, It has to be better than that stuff. The cooling fans run at 40% and I haven't seen more than 58C as far as temp goes. I don't play high demand games, so I don't expect to see much more temp than that. It is a great card, and I am proud to have it.
