MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 463

Ok, I'll keep tweaking and see what I can come up with, I really don't want to go beyond 1.087 to go from 825c to 850c

I know, those low voltages are crazy, I've tested playing Crysis, BFBC2 for at least an hour. I kinda just stumbled onto it today as I wanted to see how low it would hold 800/1600/1800 as I was running it with 1.025 previously.

Mine is not an unlocked version, probably has a lot to do with it?

It doesn't make sense to me that it would require so much more voltage to go from 825 - 850.

I already have a bios that I can flash onto it, but don't have a flash drive, I'm going to see if I can do it off a CD.

@twocables: have you tried to lower the memory to 1800 or even 1700? That might help boost your core clock a bit.

I'm using kidwolf909's Guide and it comes default with 700/1800 mem/1.050v. Max voltage shown on MSI A/B is 1.15v

I can run mine at 850/1800 mem/1.1v but I guess I'll try to lower the memory to 1700, see if it helps reduce the voltage required. Although card never gets over 80C with custom fan profile (80-90% from 70C - 80C), I just wanna make sure the voltage won't make the card die 2-3 times faster than it should.
I haven't tried it, but that's mostly for two reasons: one is because I'm not as into this as everyone else is, and the other is I've seen many people who are using the same BIOS that I'm using say that it seems stuck at 1848 and can't be lowered.

@ Two Cables, I find it hard to believe that you're not as "into this" as everyone else, your 25,000 posts, and 2400 Rep points would say otherwise.

You're constantly providing good information and helping when ever you can.

I'm pretty much the least likely person here on OCN to ever run a benchmark, to run Super Pi, to participate in HWBot, etc. When I overclocked my CPU, I just overclocked it, and then that was it. When I overclocked my graphics card, I tested a few different clocks, and then when I got down to 765 I found it stable and then that was it. I don't know what kind of overclocker I am, but I sure am a lazy one. It's like I'd rather be here or playing a video game than tweaking my overclock, or re-adjusting it in order to get to know my system better.

Haven't been on here in a while and I just saw where there was card #2898 listed and sucessfully unlocked. I think we are all in agreement that we thought there were only going to be 2500 made originally. Obviously that is not the case. Does anyone know how many they are going to produce?
Sorry if this has already been discussed, but this forum has gotten so large I didn't want to go through all the posts.

I've read about 98% of post on this thread, and afaik our collective on the total count of the cards remains.

I had no idea, keep up what you're doing as you're very helpful around here.

I personally will keep tweaking until I find a sweet spot. It took me a couple weeks to be happy with my CPU OC.

For now, I am settling at 800-1600-1800 with .975v with only 60C - 65C Max on full loads, and 60% fan, had I not kept tweaking and tinkering with it, I would've settled at 825-1650-1800 with 1.050v which offered like 1-2 FPS gains over the 800c, which isn't worth it.

I still aim to find a stable 850-1650-1800 or so with some nice voltage, and I'm getting close I am refusing to go past 1.087 but I'm likely gonna have to. I doubt the minimal gains will keep my OC there permanently.

I have a comfirmed unlock failure..
Card 2037,
Ive tried 5 differnt bios , all of them cause the card to artifact pretty badly..
Also tried running it as the second card.. Ran in SLI for about a minute of BC2. Wouldnt run vantage without artifacting like crazy... She just isnt a 470.. Im assuming its bad cores....
I also tried a bios with a crazy high VID, just to be sure

As long as you want. I just go and game. If it locks up or artifacts then its unstable, if not then its all good.

Has anyone had their GE die on them yet? Not talking about bad overclockers or was bad straight from the beginning. Talking about its worked fine then one day it no worky no more.
