What the tool does is unlock the extra stream processors, so it is an easy way to check if you have the right chip. If you know your cards have all mem chips and this unlock tool works then you are golden and flash those bad boys to 470's

here's the link:

Selling your card and picking up a 560?
Yeah most likely... sorry for the late reply, it's Chinese New Year's here and I went out celebratin' (and earn some cash from parents

Although there's this really nice guy on the forums selling his GE (and even offered me to pick up another one that's unlocked for me) and ship it all the way here.

I actually really don't know what to do now o_O

I went on research mode today and found out there's going to be a GE for 560s from MSI.. I had links from a webpage that showed the line-up (Normal HAWK edition, Hawk edition OC'ed, and GE) but seems like the page is dead. I also think the evidence is here on the forums.

Maybe I'll go for that but that 560 only has the bling factor and period. Unlocked GE 465s have the h4x + bling + value factor hehe

Again, you guys are so darned lucky >_<

Keep in mind, even though they are coming out with GE 560s, they will NOT unlock to anything but

Still, it would be nice if they through that GE cooler on a 570...

Hi guys, I just registered to this forum for this thread.

I just got my gtx 465 #2900 unlocked yesterday. ( I'm at work, so I don't have the screen shot ).

Before unlocking it, I tested the card with the little video coming with the cd from msi , the sled thing. Everything was ok.

I unlocked the card with the procedure with kidwolf909' guide : http://www.overclock.net/10303918-post1344.html.

So everything is ok in gpu-z, but when I try a game or a benchmark test. The card crash. If i look at the temperature with afterburner, the card's temperature go over 100c in like 10-15 sec and the fan is running like hell.

I never overclocked a videocard before so I want to know if the temperature probleme is due to a bad setting with afterburner ( I just used the default setting with the rom 470 from evga I think ) or is due to a bad ventilation in my computer?
If i remember the volt where at 1.05v on the card with after burner.

I have the last driver from nvidia, but when I restarted the computer after the unlock, windows have detected the card and install automatic driver for it.I saw in a thread that can be maybe the probleme.

If anybody have any advice for the setting or to solve the probleme, it will be great.

Thank you for the help

Joe

So if one of the fans is rattling on one of my cards since day one when running at 65%, would I get a RMA for that through MSI?

Ask MSIAlex here :

@WarPigeon - can you post a screenshot of your Afterburner settings.

Have you installed Nvidia's latest drivers?
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Never installed what comes with the CD.

Something is wrong with your set up as the card should not reach 100C, you may want to take it out, and put it back in carefully and make sure it is in place properly.

Most of these GE's can be voltage hogs so you might need to bump it up or even lower it in some cases. Remember these GE's that due unlock were 470's that didn't meet the protocol of being a true 470 (whatever that is we don't know) so most all of these cards require some tweaking. Using AfterBurner first I'd check the volts then try core/mem/shader. The highest I believe that bios will go is 1.087v so if you need to go higher you can try one of the other bios on the main page that has a higher voltage limit. I believe NCspecV81's modded bios has a higher limit as well as the twin frozr II w/ 1.212 v cap.

Some people get lucky with these cards right off the bat but most are project cards and require a bit of tweaking and finesse

Thank's a lot

I think the card was not in place properly because au a sata connector ( this card is huge) so I made some change in my case and now with a stress test, it didn't go higher than 63c.

That was a stupid mistake from me. hehe

and thanks for the answer.

Ahhh nice, glad you got that sorted out. It didn't make sense why your card would rise that much in heat.
