I have two for sale. Both unlocked but one needs a fan fixed and I have been too busy and lazy to RMA that one.I bought a pair of other nvidia cards to get me by in the meantime. I will be putting both cards up for sale very soon:thumb:

So I haven't been here since the release and flasing craze... but my fan has recently been making an annoying clicking noise at all fan speeds. Less noticeable at 30%... but really annoying at the standard 40% and above. Doing a quick search - I see that most people only get this at 60%+. Didn't see any one getting it at below 50%.

I am debating between selling it off at a discount vs. RMA'ing it. For those that RMA'd - what was the process like? What replacement (if any) did you get?

P.S. The card has been a champ and I will miss it frown.gif

Does anyone know if we need to flash these cards back to the original BIOS before an RMA? Does it matter if one has replaced the TIM? One of my cards has had one of the fans go out on it. I am most likely going to sell the both of them but need to RMA the one with the fan that will not work. I am just hoping someone in this thread can shed some light on their RMA experience.

I would hate to RMA the card and get sent an unlockable 465 or something like that. doh.gif

Thanks in advance! thumb.gif

I just sent mine back with a 470 bios, they didn't complain. I don't like the new number as much though. Got 2868. Had 2977.

Hey all, GTX465GE #1687 here, still locked... I haven't unlocked b/c the first time I built this computer it was in a very small case and the power supply was right above the video card. Well a couple times when it was built like that it would crash at boot up when entered my password.

The crash was weird, it would look like it was 8 bit mode color and then it the screen would go blank. It's happened at other times too, Mass Effect 1 would wig out and some of the textures would turn yellow.

Sometimes still if I cold boot (if my apartment is 68 or below) I get the weird logon crash or sometimes I'll get into windows and start watching youtube and it'll crash, turning the screen blank but I can still hear sound for a bit, then all together crash. Granted that hasn't happened in like a month and it only happens about that often. I've been keeping my computer in sleep mode when not using it now and it's been fairly solid.

It's very rare, and I've gamed many, many hours on many many games without any errors (except for the expected Bethesda crashes :-P).

Do you think it's a good idea to flash still even with those problems? I don't overclock, and if I flashed it would leave it stock as well. One other question, I've seen some say it's safe to flash inside windows, what do you recommend?

Thanks so much, hope you can help.

One other thing, the link to the 470 stock bios is gone... can I just go to MSI's site and get theirs or can someone throw me that file?

Oh I have another silly newb question, GPUZ, does that save bios button save the whole bios? it's such a small file.... Or should I just go ahead and us NVflash to backup before unlocking anyway I go?

Oh, I should point out that I now have a Storm Sniper case.... Three 200mm fans and a 120mm, I set my fan speeds on the video card and my system stays around 30-35 on the cpu and gpu at idle.

Looks like my card 1 is going out. Getting 1" lines all over the screen and no it wont even boot into windows. This sucks because Im water cooled and cant just pull out the cards.
