MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 87

@brettjv: I think it took me 1.065v to get 800/2000, but was able to jump to 840/2000@1.088v. I'm having trouble hitting 850 though. I've tried to 1.138v but still gray screens a few minutes into furmark. I might try lowering the ram speed a little bit and upping the voltage a little more. I wanted to hit 875 haha. Temps and noise are not bad at all. The fan becomes mildly audible at 62% or so. My normal gaming fan speed is set at 70%. Playing BFBC2 at these clocks, I hit a max of 67C last night.

When benching with Furmark, I have the fan at 90% (comparable noise to the stock 480 cooler at 75%). Getting max temp of 77C with my current setting. Very happy overall with this card. Even if this is as high as I can go, it's an unbelievable value

I've added you to the list.

chatch, Newegg is giving you a decent offer here. I know the majority of us paid 259.99, but really, what's an extra $30? They're doing this because you requested a discount, it's not something they're required to do. This is a pretty unique card and it is proving to be a pretty good clocker. I think you'd feel worse about the regret of not buying than you would about the extra $30 coming out of your pocket.

You know what this thread needs?

MOAR PICTURES!!!

For example, I'd be stoked to see a shot of two of these cards in SLI, mounted in a nice rig.

Another thing that'd be way cool is if someone who also has a 470 could do a few benchies (Vantage High, JC2, Crysis would be awesome choices) comparing the unlocked 465 with the 470, with both at the same clocks. Just so we can all feel 100% sure that we're really getting 470's at the end of the day

There's 5 of these cards on eBay for $297 and free shipping if that's currently the best deal around. http://cgi.ebay.com/MSI-N465GTX-Twin...-/300453560470 if anyone is interested still and doesn't want to pay $317 from Egg ;\\

I loved how in the FPS charts in the first post, all the games were the ones that favored Nvidia cards. Farcry 2 being one of them.

The point of that particular article was to look at how the card did unlocked vs. locked. The 5850 was just kinda thrown in there as a yardstick.

And ATI is actually known to do well at Vantage and CoP ... heck CoP even has AMD and ATI logo's in the beginning of the game.

I'm pretty sure the common thread amongst those games chosen is ... they have benchmarks readily available for them.

Mine appears to be sitting at the UPS warehouse in Cerritos at the moment, is that where yours is too? Maybe our cards are bunkmates
