MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 91

I just want to know what BIOS people have had success with, not only getting it to work, but which one has provided the best OC'ing. If that info is available.
In progress.

Not sure if you saw my post above but there is a link to multiple BIOS files in the OP.
Not 'til Monday morning Frosty. Its stuck at the UPS facility in Sacramento right now. I'll PM you as soon as I get the info (and hopefully flash it by that night). I just got the keys to my first house today (yay I haz mortgage) so things are starting to get a little hectic around here.

Personally, I'm probably going to flash to the best performing GTX 470 BIOS from this thread: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7097...ng-thread.html

I plan on testing out NCspec's as well, since he seems to have gotten pretty far with it.

That can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?e7kqidb47ezjbot

All of this is in the first post in this thread, just so you know.

Congratulations on the house!

I've added you to the member list. You can PM me or just post your card number when you get it.

I see the OP mentioned using the "best performing Bios", aka "grunion's ocx480 bios", but while the link says it is for 470, the ROM file itself is for the 480. Will that 480 Bios (called ocx480.rom) work on this card??

It should do wonders. It's a modified 480 BIOS.

Cool!! So the card will self identify as a 480 after that? Madness!! I am so glad I got in on this deal last night. Card is set to arrive on Tuesday.

Sorry for such a stupid question but, is it safe to use? I thought the 465s could only use the 470 bios for unlocking.

No, afaik, the card is still identified as a 470 but has clocks and voltages taken from a 480 BIOS. Hence, being a labeled as a modified 480 BIOS to be used on a 470.

I'm guessing there is going to be an increase in temps then, but that shouldn't be a problem because of the crazy cooler on this card haha
