I have always used Norton. Many will say it is absolutley horrible, but I love it. Seeing as my computer almost never turns off (I run folding almost 24/7), it will update at night if it needs to and will also run the virus scans at night.

I use AVG simply because it's free, and does just as good a job as my Norton used to. Plus, it auto-updates more often. I had problems with LiveUpdate only running once a month, and I couldn't change it.

I've also tried Avast and McAfee, I in my opinion they are worthless.

Norton IS aweful, everyone i know that uses it (including me) has run into some terrible problems with it, one of which stops you turning off your pc unless you end the process. Use AVG, its pretty comprehensive, it isnt intrusive and it pretty much finds everything. And its free. Its an excellent package considering that.

I hate norton . . . mostly because of their intigration into everything and their slow startup times. . . ccap.exe is a *****. I swithed to NOD32 which seems to be very light on resources but i picks up stuff that my norton didnt (ran it right after i uninstalled norton and it picked up 3 vir. i use that coupled with outpost firewall and i am very happy w/ the setup
