The Misfits - Page 176

post #1751 of 6206
Just an FYI, but the PPD of WKS04's SMP client (the one for the Team) will be lower than usual for a couple of days, as the GPU client has been fired up for the FaT... There should still be a bigadv WU that drops before the end of the Fold-a-Thon anyway, and still likely to be above 70k points..

Ok guys...I am officially an idiot!

idiot---->sstnt<----stupid

They say confession is good for the soul, so here goes. When I had those problems getting a wu a few days back, I deleted my work folder AND config file. When I loaded the info back in.....uh....well.....I used my original passkey, NOT the one I got for team folding. So here I folded for 4 days, fat, dumb, and happy (emPHAsis on dumb) and then I finished a 72k pnts bigadv yesterday, and lo and behold it didn't show up today in yesterday's results. And THEN I figured it out. OUCH! And worse, I just finished and uploaded a 90k pnt bigadv!

When I get home I'll get it corrected, but that's 160k+ pnts for MISFITS that I screwed up on. Sorry, guys! Promise it won't happen again! It'll be some OTHER stupid mistake next time!

If it makes you feel any better I dropped another bigadv this afternoon.

Well misery loves company I guess...but any more company and we're goin' to lose our lead!

Got home early enough that I only had to delete 4% of work on a 6900, then I put the right key in and restarted and got another 6900, thank heavens! So it will be done day after tomorrow (Thursday) in the morning. Until then, nothing from me darn it. Like SIX DAYS without a bigadv!

NLM, looks like we're counting on you guy! Along with VW and k4! At least for the next couple of days.

I'm not sure why you had to delete the WU when you could have just updated the client settings and restarted.

If I change passkeys in the middle of the wu, I don't get bonus points. Meaning I would fold for 1.75 days and get like 8-9k pnts.

You should delete the contents of the Work folder and the 'queue.dat' file from the main Folding folder..if you want you can then copy the remainder (if you didn't duplicate it when you first set it up) and have a play with that... :facepalm:

Anyway, my bigadv dropped earlier but seemingly not soon enough to be counted in the last EOC update - even though there was ~60 minutes left...but it is at least showing up in the Stanford's stats. Can't be 100% about the points, but the difference between EOC and Stanford is 73188 points...

Oh, and don't you have LogMeIn or similar to be able to hook back to your computers remotely..?? Might be an idea - especially if you make this sort of FUBAR again...

Couldn't do it from my work computer anyway, they've got this network pretty well locked down from that sort of thing.

I might have been able to connect my personal laptop to the open wifi upstairs and tried to remote in, but didn't have it with me.

Sorry guys, our lead is down to 573K pnts (without my mishap we'd be over 730k ahead!). That said, with only 9 days left in the month we've pretty much got this one in the bag. I'll finish up my 6900 for >90k pnts tomorrow for Friday's update. NLM should have one showing up for today, and ss144 had a nice one yesterday. We'll press on to VICTORY!
