2) I've worked out what was wrong with my Folding client that was blocking it from getting the bigadv WUs..!!! Seems that the config wasn't being saved (even when I changed it the other day) so when I was installing the VM earlier, I decided to stop the client (it also 'helped' that my WAN had fallen over, so it wouldn't have been able to send the WU anyway...that's now fixed too!! ) and then go through using -configonly when I was ready to start it back up.. Fired it back up, left it alone for a while when was having lunch etc, and now I've got me a 6900 unit.!!

Now, all I need to do is sort out this ******* printer issue (ideally I would like to be able to share the printers 'natively' in Linux, so I'm not wasting any cycles on a VM) and maybe also get the Folding to automagically kick off when the machine logs in - it already logs in automagically, just need to get it to Fold and I'm happy.....................................then I can wipe it and start again without all the duplicated folders from testing...
Great news, NLM! Fold that 6900 to test your overclock and stability, and we'll figure out when to swap you back in!

I'm thinking about getting my OC up a bit, as I had dropped it back to "only" 3.8 GHz a few weeks ago, can't remember why, I guess/think it was prolly as Lucid had decided to hang for a bit...but the settings (what it is, and what the options for changing) are here:

Here's my consumption from last Friday (15th) evening...

I'm solid right now, if you want me to finish up the month. Fold a couple or three bigadvs and work on a stable overclock so you can start out STRONG on 1 August!

(Ha....photos didn't initially show up so I thought CONSUMPTION meant your WATTS...NOT your SHOTS!)

I'm not sure how well you can see it, but that is a litre of vodka, and there is (was) only enough to make it just above the lowest bulge-bit...and 8 hours previous to that shot (as in picture!) it was still in the local supermarket....

IIRC, the following morning I had Tia jumping up and down on the bed, laughing (loudly), screaming (even louder), and generally being a hyperactive 3yo at around 06:45, which was less than six hours after I'd poured that one......................yet I wasn't the one complaining about the noise.. (Not getting hangovers FTW!! )

Sounds fun NLM.

sstnt, is your hex ready to go?
I have a problem... my internet connection is not up very much, and I don't have the money right now to invest in a 3G connection...
And when it is up, I have a 128k upload.

I have a 6903 that I will hopefully be able to upload in 19 hours...

What type of WAN link do you have..? ADSL, DSL...?

If you're running ADSL, check for noise (crackle) on the phone line, and maybe try replacing the filter... These are two things to check for the most common issues - as you've still got *some* connectivity... If you've got a spare router, then it might be an idea to try using the other one...so you can establish whether the router's WAN port is on the way out (this applies to both ADSL and DSL - and is something I had a few months back) causing the slowness..

Maybe you could try going to http://www.speedtest.net and running a test; this can show whether the issue is just on your upload, just the download, or on both directions..

If you've got a thread up, post a link to it (either PM or posted in here) so I can help to troubleshoot with/for you...!

Yes, ADSL... already tried that stuff... disconnected all the phones.
The modem drops offline.
Tried a new modem, that did not help either.

The cable company I work for has service to the streets on either side of mine, but no plans to put lines down my street.

Perhaps get a post on (one of) the adjacent streets, then run a single cable back to your gaff..??

I have a 6903 that I will hopefully be able to upload in 19 hours...
I could take back over tomorrow, but it will not be with big bigadvs, just standard. Can you take back over on your GX2 (do you have enough bandwidth for that) or are you totally down? Not sure how it would work for me to be folding THREE places on the team...
My connection needs to be babysit to work. I have been working on uploading a Bigadv from my other 970 this morning... have restarted modem at least a dozen times.
The issue is the connection itself... not necessarily the bandwidth. Actually, when the connection is actually working, my upload is nearly 2x my previous connection's upload speed.

We do have Verizon looking into the issue... hopefully it can be fixed... otherwise I may be done with 24/7 folding for a little bit... might do some regular smp since they upload faster.
