Girlfriend.....I don't think we issued you one of those....what's that gonna do to your ppd?

Congrats and enjoy...the way I think about it, it will keep you OFF your computer more, resulting in MOAR PPD!

Oh, btw, what are you working on now and when's it due? Gotta get your hfm set up there sometime, or I'll keep asking you questions, ya know!

Okay, so I *finally* got my internet back an hour ago.....that was only down for ~4 hours...

Anyway, didn't do anything with the clocks or anything else...

I'm WFH this w/end anyway, so maybe I'll do something at some point....

I see that I forgot to reply to this before, but I won't be doing this - not because I don't respect what he has done around here, nor because I am doing it to "spite" anyone...but I'm not going to be around at the end of the FaT to change back, and that's presuming I could suss out the change (as I'm using a script) for it to just do '-oneunit' then change it to use SA's details and key (remembering to save the normal key too) and then kick off the WUs again...especially as I'm gonna be working until the day before I leave..

I'm all for getting the maximum points on the board as a way of honouring Syr, but I won't be changing the username and/or passkey.

I've seen others that will also not be doing this (at least not for their TC hardware) and that, along with those who wish to do this, is completely their own choice.

So you guys know, I ended up leaving the clocks as they are/were....decided that I didn't want to turn it up a bit only for it to have any sort of issue while I'm away for a fortnight in Canadia...

That brings me nicely onto the other comment I wanted to make, which is that (just like when I was in San Jose in May, and Turkey in June) it might be a good idea for someone to keep an eye on my stats, just in case anything goes "bits" up before I get back - and maybe have someone ready to step in as a temp if needs be...

Ok, NLM. Good choice not to do any tweaks before being gone. You need a rock solid OC to be sure. I'll watch and if I see something, I'll see what I can do. My other I7 is down right now, so I can't step in unfortunately. I'll have to see if there's someone else that can. So when do you expect to be back, around 2nd week in September?

Oh, and I FINALLY got my 980X up on Ubuntu 10.04 and the folding client running. Don't have HFM up yet, or dropbox, so I still have to do that. I also need to get that backup working. First wu I got was a 6900...it seems to be running well. After I get it done, I'll see if I can come up with a 6903. I'm REALLY ready to fold one of those big -bigadvs for the team! I do have what seems to be a stable 4.2Ghz OC for now (22x191). That was stable under my H70. I'll try to tweak it up a little later, but I also need to get the sensors set up to monitor my temps first. One thing at a time though, I'm now ready for the big ones!

I fly out of LHR at around 10:00 on Thursday, spend a total of about 11 days around Montreal and Ottawa, and another two or three days around Niagara Falls, but that will be in the middle of the trip.....and then we head back on the 8th (get back on the 9th) and prolly won't get back online (other than prolly on the BlackBerry) until Monday the 12th..

I'm doing a training course today (started yesterday, but I'd completely forgotten about it until I'd been in the office working for ~50 minutes ) so I've already missed out on ~24 hours of posts on my subscribed threads....will be working until Weds lunchtime, and have things to do (take Tia to her new/next nursery for a final "settling in" session, get my ears lowered, take the bike for a ride to get fuel and give the battery a final bit of a charge before it is left for ~15 days) so I'll prolly have about 500 posts to catch up with by the time I get back.........and that's just from here..!!

We'll try to make sure you're busy, NLM....I'll have everybody drop a few pm's your way too...

Ok, finished up that 6900 (while I was watching), and it couldn't send it! Had to figure out how to go in and add the -send all flag, restart the client, get it to send, then stop it and remove the flag and restart it. But I did get it to send (I think ). AND I got a 6903 big -bigadv! So I know that's working...I just don't know how much I'll get yet as I didn't have a chance to let it run before I left. I did get HFM going, so I can check when I get home, but dropbox isn't working yet so I don't have a way of monitoring it yet from work. I'll work on that AND the automated backup when I get home. But we've now got TWO Misfits running the big -bigadvs, so that should help us maybe get back into the top ranks for September!

Good job on the bigbigadv (or whatever the flag for it is, I don't remember) and with regards to HFM, don't you have another computer that you can run that on..? That way you can just run the HFM client on that, and just access the shares on your Linux machines and voila.....and it also means that you aren't "losing" any CPU cycles on the Folding CPUs - this would be especially handy if you want to Fold on GPUs... That would also be handy for backing up the bigbigadv clients.....

Probably right, but the only other computer I've got up right now is the one my wife uses (and that is folding on the 9800GTX), and for some reason every time I start up HFM, it gets shut down at some point during the day, not sure why. Maybe I'll try that though.
