With winter coming on, that will help too (computer is now in the BASEMENT, where I can leave the window open, close the heater vents, and have it <20C ambient)!
hehe damn that sounds nice!

I upgraded from a 240 to a 240+360 rad (Black Ice GTX Lite) and i saw a 5-7c drop in my cpu temps, whilest adding a 2nd 5870 overclocked @ 1025mhz core (check sig).

I think its a quite nice improvement, especially considering both my GPUs are running @ 36c FULL LOAD ;D!

Tell you what, how about I take back over on Friday (if we can get zodac to swap us out AND if my wu is still folding ok). That will let you work on your overclock for a week or two. I'm not planning on doing any more on mine ATM.I'm now at 25x173=4325mhz and almost 1800mhz RAM, 9-9-9-9-24 right now (stock). If this is stable (at 38% on the 6904 I'm on now), I'll wait until my new watercooling parts are all in and I can design and schedule to install them. Then we can swap back over. You are around 80k ppd on that 6904, I'm now almost to 88k ppd (1:02:15 tpf). Maybe you can jump me again.

Edited: k4....after discussion with z, can you hold on and keep folding for MISFITS until the end of the month (just 9 more days). That's be a Friday, then you'll be on your on starting on the 1st and I'll take back over. That gives me a little time to maybe get my new wc hardware in and do some more overclocking.

Well, here's a quick off-topic update:

I've found out what they think it was that my Aunt had, and a couple of similar illnesses:
Ulcerative Colitis (what she had)
Crohns disease (sp?)
IBS

I have the exact same symptoms, she now has a stoma bag - as she had all of one and 90% of the other intestines removed...

I've got an appointment with a specialist tomorrow evening (thanks to my work giving private medical cover - otherwise, like the last time I was experiencing the "red tide" it was about 8 weeks) so I should have some more details on WT* is going on; though I don't expect to have a definitive response - but at least an idea...

Man, I am really sorry to hear that, NLM. I hope things work out better for you than your aunt. Keep us up to date, and let us know if there's anything we can do for you!

That sounds good, I can keep it going... when it gets close to the end of the month I will throw it some regular SMP or something...

Yeah. Too bad there's no way to select -bigadv instead of -hugeadv (could you spoof it to think you've only got 8 threads ).

I could probably do that, but looking at it, I should be able to get a big bigadv to drop on the 30th...
This current one ran slower than the past 5, that all ran around 84kppd from start to finish, not calculating the upload time...

Just ordered a replacement for my dying cat2 cards
a GTX560Ti

...though I may use it to replace my 550Ti and move the 550Ti into my main rig... not sure yet
Got the 550Ti running a 1920x1080 display, my main rig has a 1680x1050 display. Might be better to put the better card on the bigger display.

Guess it will depend on what you get next (6903, 6904, or bigadv). Just work it out however is best.

Yep, best card on biggest display is probably the way to go.
