The Misfits - Page 466

Good Morning (midday, evening, night) MISFITS! Ok, so 6th place isn't great...but we've only 215k pnts behind the 2nd place team. We are 564k pnts behind PPDP...so they're putting ground between themselves and everyone else right now, but we can only control what we can control. Tonight, I drop my 6904 for 380k pnts, tomorrow (late) blazed_1 dorps his 6903 for maybe 230k pnts. Between those and everything else, we'll put 800k pnts down by Wednesday morning. Keep'em folding and maybe we'll end the month on a HIGH point of the swing. biggrin.gif

blazed_1...you get that Q9550 up? How's it folding?

Hacksword, hope you can work something out with Digi...seems a good time to swap in and OC that system, since blazed_1 will be temporarily folding in your place.

BWG, thanks for the input. Think adcantu got the word that folding's not sufficient reason to upgrade (but I don't think it would hurt ppd...just not to do it expecting that right now).

NLM...haven't heard from you in a bit. Are you having any luck figuring out your system? And how are you're other issues going...let us know, Teammate! redface.gif

6903 dropping for me in about 9 hrs for about 238k. Q9550 rig should be good to go, folded on it for a few days at 4 GHz with no problems.

Great! Thought it was tomorrow it was finishing. It should finish up about the same time as mine, so it will be in tomorrow's results.

What kind of ppd is your Q9550 getting at 4Ghz?
I was getting about 11.5k PPD but that was in Windows on the 6097 and 6098's (I think that's the numbers). Need to grab a HDD from my folding rig then I'll install Ubuntu. Going to be doing that here in a few hrs once this 6903 finishes up.

Sorry, started typing up a reply yesterday and then had customers going off the wall at work....so never got round to finishing it off.............but here it is:

Right now we are solidly in 2nd place, 203k pnts behind PPDP and 240k pnts ahead of The Royal Navy. blazed_1 and I both dropped our bigadvs. I picked up a really nice 6904 (88k ppd), due late on the 12th (yep, have to wait for it 4 days), but it is coming in for over 380k pnts. blazed_1...what are you folding on now, and when will it get done?
Anyway, we'll fall back some as other team's huge- and big-advs come in, but then should pop back up in the stats by Tuesday morning. adcantu is still burning away in 2nd, and Amang is p@wning the fermi cat in 1st! thumb.gif I'm still folding for NLM (where are you NLM...planning to do some T/Sing work this weekend wink.gif) in the I7-2 cat and upped my OC to 21x193=4.053Ghz. Seems steady at that...knocked another couple of seconds off TPF, but I'm getting 6098s out the yazzoo, so it's still under 21k ppd. Still holding our own in that cat, not as big a differentiation between 1st and 8th as in other categories. I've got the -bigadv flag...what does it take to pick up a bigadv with a 920?redface.gif
That said, I've been trolling to get Hacksword a board that will OC that Q9550 of his...and Digi has offered one up (what a guy....or bespokes his oodles of confidence in PPDP rolleyes.gif)....but he and Hacksword will have to make a deal on it so we'll see. He'll still be down for a bit this month moving, so blazed_1 will take his place. You ready to do that, blazed?
Anyway, keep up the great folding MISFITS! We've got PPDP in our sights....if we can keep within a hugeadv of them, who knows? biggrin.gif
I'm still around, just been very busy...

I found what might have been causing (some) of the heat issues I'd been seeing - there was a load of scum that was forming around the KillCoil in the run from the res...which was prolly reducing the waterflow as much as the airflow restriction from having WKS04 *in* my desk...

I had to cut the tubing to get rid of the **** from that, and to get the KillCoil back out, and the length of that section of tubing is barely long enough for what I'm gonna do now...which is to cut the vent on the side of the case out, run the tubing through that and side-mount the res (done this bit) on to the fan holes on the removable side cover.... I've put some water back in, but there's an airlock (so it won't just work using gravity, like I was able to do when I had spare tubing in the loop) so I think I'll need to fire it up for a couple of seconds to get the pump, presuming it is still working, to push the water that it does have around the loop...

Was gonna do that Sunday night, but got a bit tipsy after watching the rugby...and finishing off the invitation schtuffs for my daughter's 4th birthday party...plus all the schtuffs on Twitter that are keeping me "otherwise engaged" too....

Kewl....can you OC it and fold on it? wink.gif
post #4658 of 6206
I'll be Folding on it, once I get time to finish installing all the other applications that I need to use for work and chatting... This thing is crazy fast compared to my previous work machine (which I'm still keeping until I get another new rig in a month or two too..!) but only has a relatively small drive - with the diags we work with, 150 GB will be filled reasonably quickly....

The only concern I have about Folding on it is that it's running an SSD, so the writes will be clocking up on it...

MISFITS are in 2nd place now, only 175k pnts behind PPDP...keep it up, guys! We may not be able to make up the difference...but at least we can push them a bit this month!

Great folding by everyone, very consistent. I've got a bigadv due for 90k pnts + this afternoon. Cross fingers I get a hugeadv...because these bigadvs are NOT going to do it for us long term.
60k ppd versus 88-90k ppd is a big difference.

Amang & adcantu are TEARING UP the GPU category..both are in 2nd place in their cat, but as a GPU team they are tops! thumb.gif

blazed_1...in FIRST PLACE AGAIN...way to go blazed! thumb.gif What are you folding on now and when's it due?

Hacksword, do you have a firm date yet for when you'll be shutting down? Make sure to get it to blazed_1 and to BWG/zodac to take action. We can't afford to lose ANY points this month. wink.gif

I've got the OC on my 920 up to 21x197=4.137Ghz, which when folding these 609X smp wus gives me about 21-23k ppd. That's enough to keep me out of last in that cat...but not by much. rolleyes.gif But since we can only have 2 bigadv folders on the team, and that's my 970 and blazed_1's 2600K, just have to keep chugging away. I don't want to mess with the OC on it any more (though it is a D0 chip). I might get it to 4.25 or better...but that won't give me much more ppd and might cost me some wu's.

NLM...keep plugging away man! Really would like to get my 920 and it's accompanying 580GTX folding FOR ME ya know! rolleyes.gifwink.gifbiggrin.gif Maybe before the foldathon (March 19th)? Also, we'd love for you to be back folding for the team. Right guys?

All in all, a great month...much better than last. Let's keep it up, and may the chips fall where they may. If we can just keep within 1 hugeadv of PPDP...who knows? biggrin.gif
post #4660 of 6206
I have another 6901 working right now due to finish around 4:30 PM (EST) tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a 6903/4 after that finishes. And of course we'd love to have NLM back folding for us, it's not the same without someone nude and lude. biggrin.gif
