The Misfits - Page 473

That drain fitting does look interesting, would need to find somewhere over here that sells those (or similar) soon...

I'm chatting (via e-mail) with Aaron/TheReaperWaits about schtuffs too, as he can't post from his [Windows Mobile] phone, and he has a couple of ideas - and a few pre-cut lengths of 1/2" clear tubing too....

I'm going for a meal with work tomorrow night, so I could fit it then, if that suits...
In (kinda) related news, Mrs NLM has said that I should just buy some new tubing, but I might see if I can talk her into getting a new pump too - as I'm still not convinced that the pump is up to much, given how slow the flow seems to be at the moment....even though it isn't pushing a full loop, so (as I think I said previously) it doesn't have the water in the loop 'falling' down some of the tubes to help push (or, using the water, pull) the water through the sections that run upwards...
Anyone have any suggestions as to what to go for, so far all I know is that the CPU block and rad should be able to be used, the connections will either need to be replaced or just get some more (the pumps I've seen don't appear to be pump-res-combo doofreys* like I've got currently in my RS360 loop) and I'd need to get a "T" whatjermeecallit* so I could drain it more easily in future... Bear in mind that I'm in England..
* = Technical term

If you were in the states, I could hook you up pretty quick, NLM. I've got a spare pump & tubing I could get to you...but I'll see what I can find out for you. Saw blazed_1 gave you some guidance too.

Get that 275 up and folding and let's see what ppd is gets. I'm not sure where in Cat 3 that fits...don't think it's a 1x (single folder) for that cat. Is it a 2x o a 3x? Have to ask BWG and/or zodac about that. Try to do it on the pdq...as Hacksword's Q9550 sounds in pretty bad shape. redface.gif

Thanks for that...will do my best to check it on something other than this flakey phone... I know its this particular handset, as it has been naff since I got it as a replacement for one that was rock solid....

I'll nab it out of WKS02 in a bit (can drop one of the ~8 non-Folding GPUs that are on my shelf in to replace it, if needs be...will get it into WORKPC after about 17:00 tomorrow, can someone remind me of the link to get a new passkey - will get two or three, then I can have a separate one for WORKLT for when I suss out (and have time) to set up a whole new config GUI... Think I'll have to check which client I'll need for the GPU client too......

In other news, I'm also trying to code up an entire collection of guides that I've accumulated.... ;o)

The GTX275 would be an only card in Cat2 (to replace the dying quad).

Well, I'm happy to be used as a temp for that slot, even if only until we get someone else in....some points are better than no points, after all...

Wait.....that says "one quad core CPU" there............would that mean that I could use WORKLT in that spot.....? confused.gif

If it does mean it qualifies, then a guide for the setup of the new client would be handy, as I could be up and Folding within 12 hours from now.... ;o)

Gonna go get a handful of passkeys now... wheee.gif

What cpu does it have in it, NLM? It's for a quad core/4 threads cpu like the I5, or Q. What OS is it on?
See my post from last week sometime....don't remember exactly what it is, other than an i5 CPU with 6 GB of RAM and SSD running W7 x64.... ;o)

I've downloaded the latest Folding client from Stanford already, but it looks a bit different to previous versions - in the GUI at least..... o.O

Anyway, 275 GPU is out and sitting on my chair, if someone can remind me to take it in (e-mail or tweet is best) then that'd be grand.... thumb.gifwheee.gif

If it's the laptop with the I5-2540M, NLM, I've checked and that only gets about 4k ppd (mobile processor...phooey wink.gif). If it's something else...didn't see it. Gotta be a quad core without multithreading.

http://icrontic.com/discussion/90229/foldinghome-points-per-day-results

Try to get that 275 in. I've got my 9800GT up...it's showing about 5800k ppd. I'll also get my 9800GX2 (1 core) up and add it up and see what I get. If you can beat it with that 275, we'll go with you.

Added: Ok, got my 9800GX2 folding (on both cores right now...but I think I had a problem with one of them). Getting just just over 12k ppd (5.5k + 6.5k ppd) right now. I'll fold on them the next couple of days and we'll see what we've got. But I can tell you right now, my wife is NOT going to like the folding on the 9800GT (it's the card in the computer she uses). It does cause some lagging in web browsing for some reason.
