I think it's everybody doing SMP. I've been getting the same crappy wu's as well. Still want to try and install v7 in 10.10 one of these days to see what it's like but I'm not sure if I would be able to get HFM to work with it.
I'm currently running a Windows VM just
to get HFM to pick up my v7 client(s).

I got a bad 71xx this morning and remembered to copy the log. Here is a segment of the log showing what it does when 1st starting some WU's and I was curious if it was happening to anyone else[12:27:17]
Completed 0 out of 500000 steps (0%)[12:34:33]
Completed 5000 out of 500000 steps (1%)[12:37:01]
Completed 10000 out of 500000 steps (2%)[12:39:29]
Completed 15000 out of 500000 steps (3%)
[12:41:57] Completed 20000 out of 500000 steps (4%)
Notice how 0-1% is over 7 minutes long, but then after that its at 2:28 ish the remainder of the wu, but because of the slow start it finished at 2:31 (I know its only a few hundred points, but every point counts in the tc, lol) I just started another 71xx and at 4% its right at 2:27 tpf
That could be because of thekraken (if you run that). The first frame will take longer than the other, but once it's "loaded" it will go down. For me it has usually lowered my avg TPF over a unit some, but it does more work the bigger the unit is, and most units we get now are not that big.
You might wanna try to switch it off (cd to fah
directory and then thekraken -u
, it will take effect on next unit or if you stop and restart the current unit it will take affect right away).
