City of Heroes

I saw this game a few years back, and was tempted to get it, but on the box it said something about a continuous subscription like WoW. Now I decided to look into it again, but I can't find any info on wikipedia, GameSpot's site, or the dev site about it's payment methods. So, does it have a monthly subscription?

<insert word I'm not allowed to say on the forum here>

Looks like I'll have to find a different MMO to look into.

Well, Dungeons and Dragons Online went free to play (F2P), Lord of the Rings Online (LotRO) is going F2P soon. Everquest 2 is also working on putting up some F2P servers. Only catch is some slightly limited content, and microtransactions. Those are the real AAA MMO's that are worth looking at.
