Confirmed: Pentium D 900 @ 4GHz beats FX60

Thread Starter
Ok before I start let me say I'm sorry Vexamus, I hope you don't think I'm trying to bash you or anything I just want people considering the Pentium D 900 series to know....but in the 3D Mark 06 scores thread Vexamus scored 1900 something (low 1900 like 1912 or something) with his FX60 and I scored 2100 with my Pentium D 930 at 4.13 just thought some prospective buyers considering AMD vs. Intel might like to know. I have also heard that at 4.5GHz which is well within reach with these CPUs they compare to an FX60 at 2.9GHz.

But what about an FX60 at 3GHz +, like they are well known to do? And I still think it's sad that they need a 1.4GHz faster clock speed to keep up.

I was just saying that it can and does beat an FX60 but now I realize this was a big mistake, this is going to be a big time flame war someone close this quick!

Well considering that the 920 is 1/5 the price of the FX60, I really don't care if I have to OC it 1.4Ghz. What is better, and fast stock processor for $1100, or a HIGHLY OCed processor that matches the stock one for $240?

Not trying to start a flame war, just asking.

I want to know how fast it would have to run to keep up with the 3.8GHz FX60. (Highest CPUZ-verified OC for FX60)

Edit: And I'd take a $300 fast stock processor (X2 3800+) and OC it 800MHz and have it beat both the FX60 and the 1.4GHz OCed Pentium D.

Its fine to have healthy debate. just keep it mature.
