Advice Please

post #1 of 6
Thread Starter
I got recommended the beow HD;
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=89511

But I felt a lil confused, and looked for another myself (Specifically S-ata)
(My Price range is around £40-£50)
This is what I found

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=94405

Can anyone tell me which one is better? And why? And if there is a much better one than both of these, for my price range on ebuyer.

ALL contributions are greatly appreciated, and welcomed.

Geetings again amigo. What motherboard are you going to go with? Knowing this will help in deciding what HDD to get. The first is IDE and the second is SATA II 3GB/s. All motherboards will support IDE. Not all have SATA II. Most (if not all) will support SATA 1.5GB/s. If you have SATA II support on your motherboard choice then go with a SATA II but if not you will need to find a SATA. Now of course you MAY be able to use a SATA II drive on a board that supports SATA. This can be confirmed by someone else. Either way you do not want the IDE. Get a SATA.

Actually, SATAII is compatible with SATA, and vice versa. The first is good with a higher capacity, but the other has a faster interface.
