I have have been looking at the G73jh for some time, I was sold on the specs for the dollar. However, the has been alot of bad reviews, most of which are crashing, and the screen having alot of problems. I also heard it might get a gtx 480m, and if they take care of the problems I will most likely get one. Mainly for the specs, but they need to add raid 0, Usb 3.0, and I will be all over it.
Next the clevo/sager w87ocu is also a great laptop which I have been looking at, But they upgraded it already, there is a new model the Sager NP8850, it has USB 3.0, GTX 480m, RAID-0, everything I am looking for, except no backlit keyboard. Which to me is a huge plus. But, if that doesn't bother you I think you would really like the 8850, though it comes with a price tag. You can customize it to your liking.
I actually just bought this laptop (BELOW) almost 2 weeks ago, until I find something more attractive. But it gets the job done, and might be more in your price range. MSI GT660R.
i7-740QM/GTX 285m/6ghz DDR3 1333mhz/1 TB(500GBx2 RAID 0)7200rpm/Intel 6200 wireless/Blu-RAY/USB 3.0. Also IC Diamond Thermal paste. CHeaper than the above by 500+.
The one touch overclock is very nice, no problems, one touch fan boost=AWESOME, I haven't written a review yet, but it's my first laptop, like I said been looking around now for almost 5 months. And settled on this until the G73 gets all the bugs out and upgrades to a GTX 480m.
I hope this helps some, the website these are linked from is kewl, and if you have any questions about any model you can live chat with a tech rep. =AWESOME. It's where I just bought mine. Happy Hunting!Edited by EvoLiTiLE - 8/11/10 at 1:03pm
