HeatSink Lapping Mod

Thread Starter
After i bought my big t heatsink i looked at the copper were it made contact with the IHS, and it looked a little rough. Also the Tim supplied didnt look to healthy so i found this site http://pcviper.net/index.htm and ordered some AS5 and the Ultra lapping kit. Temps were amazing after it was done. The only problem i came across was that the instructions are on the website and i didnt notice that untill i already took out my heatsink.
Temps Before 41c idle 53c load
After Lapping and AS5 36c idle 48c after 24 hours of prime95

If anyone has done this or are planning to, post your before and after temps with your heatsink

Every system is going to be different... Your after load temp is lower than your before load temp; so be happy with that.
