For gaming, everyone will say AMD is better. You might want to check out the threads for introductions to the processors.

As for a decent AMD mobo, I would try the ASUS A8N5X. It has decent overclocking options and it is solid if you ask me (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131569)

As for the CPU, if you want to stick with that 3800+, here is the URL (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562).

I would go for a Big Typhoon CPU cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835106061)

For a graphics card, check the eVGA 7900GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130282)

Power supply - Enermax Libery 500w (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817194003). If you plan on SLIing, you need to get a different motherboard and a higher CPU. I don't think you should SLI right at the beginning (my own opinion).

Case - choose one you want. Preferably, check out the Lian-Li PC-65 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112024)

Those would be the mainstream things I would reccomend. Hard drive, I would get a Raptor but I like the performance on those. Maybe you don't care and need the extra space.

edit:

I forgot to talk about memory.

These babies are hot and on sale.. grab em while you can. DDR500 stock! .. they are the G.Skill HZ series .. 2gb of hardcore ram. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231021

LAST edit (i promise)

I looked at that Alienware setup again. Maybe you can consider buying a ASUS A8N-SLI Premium (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131540). And with that, grab 2 7900GTs or 1 7900GTX and upgrade to two later.

Someone else help me here!

For the price I think you should get that Lian-Li case.. or a better one. Check out newegg's selection, it's amazing.

If you were about to get that $2700 setup, just get 2 7900GTXs

You might want to consider getting your 2GB's of memory from Newegg. They have G-Skill memory, and it is about the only place I know of that does. It is the best price to performance memory out there right now and it is on sale. Here, look at this memory.

in all honesty sli is mainly about bragging rights, the card you listed will blow everything away now and in the near future. Its not a bad idea to get a sli mobo
because you can add another card if the one seems to fall behind later on down the road. The cpu choice is a good one and even the 4400x2 is an awesome choice too. Its almost impossible to pick some bad performance ram. Find 2 gig with timings at 2-2-2-5 and you will be golden. HD, a 74 gig raptor is quite cheap now so give that a look see. Finally, Lian LI makes beautiful cases for fairly decent prices and cool very well. If you ever have any questions ill be more than happy to help you when you start building it and of course ocing it . Make your own comp it will blow all those prebuilts out of the water.

thanks for all the response guys. now i need a CD drive, a cooling system and a power supply. Kosovar i didnt forget about ur post, i just need one that will fit my case if that makes sense. also, is that case a good one in my pic? and that mobo is SLi ready isnt it.

and for RAM i was looking at this OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Platinum System Memory Model OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K - Retail

UPDATE: That BFG GeForce 7900 GTX PCI Express 512MB DDR3 Video Card w/2 Dual-Link DVI-I & HDTV card is on back order and is out of stock. should i just wait a little while or buy somthing else? like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131004
and if i did that that POWERCOLOR card, it says it requires some weird power supply plug. how am i supposed to know if my mobo has that power supply?

and im gonna sound pretty stupid but.. lets say i bought 2 cards that are SLi ready, and say my MoBo is SLi ready too. Can i go ahead and use those 2 cards, like make them work together and get awesome performance or do i have to wait for an SLi game to come out

because i was looking at this, it comes with a power supply http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...815248&CatId=0

Good choice on the RAM. CD drive, meh get whatever dvd burner you want, they are all fairly inexpensive. Big typhoon is the way to go on this comp. Water cooling later on down the road imo. Lian Li is beautiful but im not sure how much
of a pain it could be to use a typhoon with that case.

Good PSU, and could late ron if you wanted to-
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=270341

save some cash on the cpu with this one, an awesome processor-
