I don't think it'll play FEAR on max with really good frame rates, but it will definately run it at pretty good settings.

It is by far the best bang for buck card out. I ordered it for my new build comming later in these next few weeks. I saw a bunch of reviews on it and it litterally doubles the performance of a x1600xt and it beats an x1800xt for most of the tests.

They also overclock really well and since the price is pretty cheap, SLi wouldn't be out of the question for a budget system

*EDIT* here is the link: http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/326/ skip to page 11 to see the tests.

That was the x1800XL not the XT. And it didn't exactly crush it....they were dead even (some games favored each one equally).

7600gt > 6800gs > x1600xt > 6800 > x1600pro > 6600gt

Don't you need a GPU with 512mb RAM to play FEAR at max?

If you're planning to replace that FX5500 then you can't, 7600 GT only comes in PCI-Ex16 flavor. If any, you should replace that FX5500 with a 6800 GS, other than that, I think you can't do it with a 7600 GT.

I play F.E.A.R. with everything maxed out on a 1024x768. Crappy game has no 1280x1024 res. and if I set it to 16x12 then it lags a bit and now I'm used to seeing big a$$ icons that it bothers me to see the little ones then.
