Thread Starter

as we will be able to download the demo soon, i figure we need a thread for the game. I'll update this thread as time goes by and the game gets closer to release

Release Date

The full game is out in North America, and will be out on the 27th of August elsewhere (some reviews are linked below). The demo is out, and available here. If you buy Mafia II on Steam, you can get a copy of the original Mafia game. You can also get the Digital Deluxe Edition, which offers the following:

Quote:
Made Man Pack: Free access to in-game downloadable pack that lets players get behind the wheel of two different luxury automobiles modeled after classic cars from the period. In addition, Vito will look the part with two new “made man” suits, including a vintage tux.

Digital Art Book: Get to know the families of Empire Bay with a photo album-style Digital art book that takes fans through the artistic design process of the game.

Orchestral Soundtrack: Immerse yourself in Empire Bay’s symphonic masterpiece with the Mafia II score recorded by the Prague FILMHarmonic Orchestra.

Digital Map of Empire Bay: Get familiar with the neighborhoods and own the streets with the Digital map depicting the 10 square miles of Empire Bay and all the hangout spots.
Game Info

Quote:
Vito Scaletta has started to make a name for himself on the streets of Empire Bay as someone who can be trusted to get a job done. Together with his buddy Joe, he is working to prove himself to the Mafia, quickly escalating up the family ladder with crimes of larger reward, status and consequence… the life as a wise guy isn’t quite as untouchable as it seems.

This game would definitely have one of the best stories so far, but it will also be just another console port with no attention payed to the graphics of the PC version whatsoever.

Just updated my Cpu for this game, hopefully the Amd 965 black edition running at x4 3.4ghz will be good for this game. Now I owe a 137.14 dollar debt.

Not really. They're just advertising for Nvidia with those requirements.

Not likely. Just the usual marketing bunk.

(not saying that as a fan boy, I'd have said the same if they claimed it to run better on ATI cards - it's all payoffs)

Are you people with Ati not going to get the Physx features? I heard that there's a way to hack Ati graphics cards to get them to notice Physx... I think I heard that on here on another topic.
