How big are the files? as long as they don't exceed 700mb then you can actually burn them onto a cd in mpeg4 format and it will play in a dvd player same with a dvd too. Because there really is no DVD format, it's just a bunch of files. So just put them into mpeg 4 and you fine.

I've used Nero 6--but you need to buy a darn Key Code to enable some of those options. It's a pretty decent DVD maker--with some options for menus, chapters, editting and so forth.

Using Firewire and Windows Movie Maker 2 I was able to convert DV from my minicam to Mpeg or Windows files formats or to AVI--download and install Media Encoder 9 from Windows and you can work with the raw files.

Using my ATI AIW Radeon 9600 I was able to capture video and store it on my HDD in a variety of compression formats. Using the provided VIVO dongle I was able to do the same with any Video Input--which is the ideal solution and circumvents a lot of encryption and format issues--a signal is a signal is a signal--the ATI just captures it and then you do whatever youlike with it.

What's handy about these SW are they are free and reliable. Windows Movie Maker can import video capture files and then you can edit them and export them as movie files. Nero is usually bundled with DVD burners and has a lot of different options--copying a copyrighted DVD disk is not one of them. After creating your DVD, save it as an ISO file in order to easily burn the disc again.

Hope that helps.
