I'm almost 57 yo, semi-retired design engineer, pilot, and generally a hands on sort of guy...

Nothing special about me except I have slightly less grey/white hair than some other folks my age... LOL!

That's me about a 1.5 years ago... still the same, 'cept more white hair... LOL!

PS: ABBY is the licky-monsters name... she belongs to a friend of mine...
i'm not gonna list mine, lol not enough room on the page haha

I used to do seti @ home when it first came out, but drifted away from it after a while. I had started using the world community grid again about a month ago, but while researching my new computer, I saw the people on here donating their extra CPU/GPU cycles to research and joining a team seemed like a cool thing to do.

Currently signed up with Collatz Conjecture with my:
Xeon E5405 ghz at work
Core 2 Quad Q6600 at home

Really just learning how it all works for now.
glad to have you on our team man.

I joined to have my new watercooled beast doing something useful while I am not using it... and with the overkill cooling I put on it, it can do this 24/7

I am doing SETI (used to do that many years ago when it was a stand alone thing), GPUGrid, World Community Grid and Enigma (i like crypto).

running a SB i5-2500K @ 4.5 Ghz (soon to be 5.0 Ghz) and a GTX 570 @ 800/2000. loaded temps for the CPU are under 50 and the GPU under 40.

nice man, glad to have you on the team. If you want to get some ppd from that rig, could also run some primegrid on your gpu. Just a suggestion.

Hello, I am not exactly new (I was one or the first few BOINCers, I used to be #10 now I'm #29, darn it). I decided to do it because I always leave my computer on at night, why shouldn't I give spare computer processes to science?

I run Collatz and Aqua.

My main computer has a VERY old CPU (Dual core AMD 2.6Ghz) but it makes up for it with a ATI 5750. It also has 4GB of DDR2. I plan to get a MUCH nicer rig in the summer and hopefully iy will get me up to #10 again!

wind of sorrow: you could also run dnetc.net on your video card, the do practically the same work and you get more points for it as well.
