Stability issues????

Well, my rig is 21 hours dual prime stable at 2.8 GHz, however, two of my games don;t want to seem to work with my overclock. One of which i can almost understand. When i have settings all the way up on COD2 it locks up on me every once in awhile....it happens seldomly, but enough to be annoying.

Now the one that baffles me is Freelancer. It lokck up ALOT and i have to restart my computer. I know it;s my overclock, because once i reset my defaults, it works dandily.

Am i going to have to reset my overclock every time i want to play it, or do youknow something i should be able to do.

Could it be the fact that i use a Fixed .EXE to run it? Or is my overclock actually FUBAR.

Like i said, it's dual prime stbale for 21 hours. I wouldn;t forsee a 3 year old game giving it problems.

For stability testing I use a combination betwen prime95 and 3Dmark 2005, since the latter tests the stability of the graphic subsystem. I dunno if you OCed your gfx cards or not, but when running stability testing it can be intresting to see how the vid cards behave.
As I see it in 3D mode the vid cards draw more power than idle, and althow you have a good PSU, the bottleneck may be on the power regulators on the mobo that can't provide enough both for the OCed cpu and the vid cards.
This is the way I see it, I'm no specialist, but I'd try running 3Dmark in paralel to prime a while.

In a previous system my vid card would get fussy with certian OC speeds, rather od.
Trim down the OCing of the vid cards first, just a bit.
Then try trimming back the CPUs a bit.
The combination of all on the fringe may be just a bit to much.

I have also had isses similar to this before. Its rather hard to pinpoint exactly what the problem is. what I would recommend is overclock them one at a time, finding which one is causing the problems. It may not be just one, but both combined unstable as duke said. If this is the problem, slowly lower one at a time, till your computer is stable. This will all take a while, but since when was overclocking easy.
