I just ordered the parts for my first build. Everything should be here by end of the week besides the heatsink, sleeving, after market fans, and video card. Will update with pictures and content as the they arrive and as I work on them!!

My initial idea is to have a three tone color setup of black, red and white. I will be painting on some Akatsuki clouds onto the case with various sized stencils which I've already made and used on my snowboard. The color tone will be achieved through the various LEDs on the fans and on the case as I replace the stock fans with more powerful and quieter fans I'll mix between red and white and the base will most likely stay flat black.
Part List:
- Cooler Master HAF 932 (Red LEDS)
- Corsair HX850 Modular PSU
- AMD Thuban 1090T BE CPU
- ASUS| CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA 890FX
- 8gb G.Skill ECO DDR3 1600mhz 7-8-7-24-2N
- Western Digital 1tb 72000 rpm 64mb
- Western Digital 1.5tb 72000 rpm 64mb
- Heatsink undecided.... Megahelams or h50 or h70 whatever heatsink will most likely run a push pull fan setup
- ASUS EAH 5850 TOP 1GB GDDR5 256-bit video card
Mod List:
1: ) Custom fabricated LED Akatsuki cloud
To-do List:
- Finish Akatsuki cloud
- Replace red SATA cable that is built into HAF 932 case with black SATA cable
- Replace stock CPU heatsink
- Install switch for Akatsuki cloud
- Install clamps and zip ties for cable management

Modification #1:

Plans...

Parts...

I have yet to receive my case and already I have a modification in the works...

Idea...

The idea I have is to create an Akatsuki cloud that is an inch deep. Piece # 1, 2, and 3 will have the depth of 1" and will be made from thin malleable aluminum strips. I printed out an Akatsuki cloud proportioned to the width of a CD / DVD drive. Since I will only be using at most 2 of my cases 5 potential CD bays I plan to take up the other three with this illuminated Akatsuki cloud. The cloud will be mounted to either a thin piece of wood or a piece of aluminum that will be mounted on the inside of my HAF 932 case behind the mesh removable CD bays. I plan to hook all of the LEDs to a switch, somewhere on the outside of the case, that will turn the red and white LEDs for the cloud on and off.

The area inside the cloud, that says white in the plans pictures, will be painted white and will have red LEDs mounted inside that area giving that area a red illumination when the LEDs are powered on. Piece # 1, 2, and 3, the sections that are colored in black, will have white LEDs inside the center of the aluminum pieces that will illuminate and give the cloud it's shape and white outline as seen in the parts picture. In the parts picture you can see black dots along the inside of the white bordering. These dots represent nails that will be used to mold the metal into it's shape on the wood block the picture of the cloud is sitting on.

The outer portion of the cloud will be painted flat black as to mask the shiny nature of the thin aluminum I am using and hide it inside the case pretty well when I don't have it turned on... I most likely will replace the stock mesh CD bays covers with a single piece of black mesh in front of the cloud modification just to increase the overall look, but this will come in time and is something I don't plan to worry about until after I have the cloud looking the way I want it to.

Just some initial ideas while I'm still waiting on my case to arrive for more final and accurate measurements....

Process...

So I resized an Akatsuki cloud in photoshops to the exact inch width dimensions that I wanted and went about cutting a back piece with two sides and two flaps. Following is a diagram of the metal pieces I cut out.

I didn't have a metal break so I just bent it with a ruler and my hands... Which was another reason why I bought thin gauge thin aluminum.

I then spray painted the inside of it white since I will be mounting white LEDs and I want the color to reflect well.

The outside of the box will be black so I taped up the back side of the back piece with painters tape.

Then came the cutting of the front piece. Once that was done I made a stencil and started going about spray painting the sections of the cloud that I will be removing with my dremel.

This is after two of the three sections have been removed with my dremel. The back piece is also in that picture and you can see that the inside has been taped up for the preparation of painting the back piece black.

Picture of the box from the top and from the side. Bending to come after the third section is removed with dremel and painting will follow that. Then comes the creation of the section that will contain the red LEDs.

SSSSSooooooo my case and parts should be in front of me as I type but they aren't because I wasn't home when the UPS attempted to deliver to my house. I will be picking the boxes up myself tomorrow from the local UPS office and will post up some photos.

In the mean time I just edited and added more photos to my first modification.... Enjoy!!!
