I was actually planning on a 12cm side intake. It just seems to make more sence to have fresh cool air being moved around than pulled out warm stuff. The main concern isn't mainly my budget, but the DBA. Computers where the family likes to chill and they really hate the sound of my fan right now. Thanks for all your imput, if i can find an uber quiet fan i might put it on the back as an exhaust, would about 30cfm be alright?

If I plan to cut out a hole in my case, and don't have a dremel what should I use? I've heard use a drill and just make multiple drill holes until its all filled out.

hmm, im curious, imagine only getting an exhaust fan and then making your case air-tight by seeling off the vent holes on it (by means of duck tape or something).

so in theory, the inside of the case should become a vacuum (like space)since all the air inside the case will be sucked out; And since air requires a medium to travel through -

The Result: Noise free case

imagine the possibilities

This may work in theory, (if you ignore the fact that there is space between the fan blade, which may allow some air to enter)

ahh well, you can always dream

Interesting idea. But if you did manage to create a vaccum in your case then you would have to get watercooling or something because you can't dissapate heat in a vaccum. The watercooling hoses would have to run to a rad outside which would make noise so I guess that defeats the point though

I agree with the intake idea, rear.

Do you have a PSU with an exhaust fan?

Directron has vibration dampener kits for fans & psu to quiet a case, that's what i'm doing now w/my system. Also went to 12cm fans undervolted to 5-7 volts via baybus. The PSU is the loudest part of the case, but have 9 fans total now, 6 of which are baybus-adjustable (psu has 3 temp-regulated fans).
