question on ocing 9800pro 128mb

Thread Starter
i tried ocing(ATI tool) my 9800pro to 412/366 so i can flash it to XT but i started getting artifracts @ 406 area =\\. i made it to 366 but couldnt get to the core clock. does this mean i should not flash my 9800pro to 9800 XT ? i also have an aftermarket cooling and ram sinks for the card.

my card is ATI 9800Pro 128mb bought it straight from ATI site.

i had the infinitive loop issue so i lowered my card to 4X AGP. is that the reason why i cant get to 412?

If you can't get it there through overclocking, I wouldn't do it. It will just give you troubles.

have you make sure your core before you flash it?
if i remember correctly, only R360 can do the trick.

when i had my 9800 a yr ago, i flashed to XT without any problems, and it would hit higher OC than before. but you really need aftermarket cooling before you flash it.
try more bios, this is my suggestion...
i tired about 6 bios, and only 1 worked. you should get a modded bios for your 128mb 9800 pro.

you should visit the link below to try different bios.

by the way, you should have a PCI video card ready, in case you got a bad flash and you can fix the problem.
