Thread Starter
I will get my new case on Monday and will be able to start using my x850xt, 2gb ram and ocing my processor and I will be sure to tell you what I get. Oh and anyone that is on the fence about getting this game I am currently playing it on a overclocked Radeon 9550 and enjoying it immensely.

bah 1024x768 + High + HDR its running smooth but graphics are far away from satisfying me on these settings, time to upgrade :\\
post #44 of 87
Medium Quality @ 1024x768. No HDR or AA. Increased some of the details like distance shadows and such. Using 84.25 Forceware which was apparantly tweaked for Oblivion. Helped a little.

I have to play it on 1280x1024 because of my LCD, and it really makes my 7800GT feel dated. Indoors things run fine, but outdoors, its barely playable. Not much difference in FPS i've noticed between HDR and 2x AA, so I chose HDR. I am considering upgrading to a 7900GTX for this game, but first I am going to wait to see if better drivers increase performance.

See, I have a 20" monitor and I really cant run it any less than 1280 otherwise its just jaggy as heck. So I guess that means I need to turn some stuff down, *tear*

I feel your pain, thats my problem, 1024x768 as well as anything lower than that looks plain disgusting on larger LCDs. After using my friend's CRT though, I still dont regret my move to LCD. I might go SLI next time I upgrade just to ensure that I can play 1280x1024 for a decent period of time.

You should really be able to play that at 1280 with a 7800GT. I am hoping that tweakguides will come out with an oblivion guide so that we can all get the most out of our hardware.

Ultra high settings, everything maxed @ 1600x1200 on my 20.1" Dell Ultra Sharp, game looks freakin sick. My buddy bought it for the Xbox 360, but this game is meant to be played on a PC. Besides the graphics being better, the mouse and keyboard is the way to go. Although the graphics on 360 are sick as well.

I dont know my FPS, but its smooth as silk in all the areas so I guess I'm getting at least 30fps in the over-world or whatever you call it.... the grassy knolls and what have you

Well I turned off HDR lighting on my pc, and I personally cant tell the difference with bloom lighting instead. I cranked up the anti-aliasing to 4x and it made all the edges nice and smooth, game looks a hell of alot better this way IMO.

Can anyone hook me up with a thread on HDR lighting and Bloom lighting? or even a website, I just wanna see what the deal is with those effects
