New build seems to work fine but doesnt display anything on monitor....

Some of you may remember the specs that were in my profile some 2 weeks ago, but since nobody probably really remembers them...they were an Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe, Pentium 4 530, MSI RX600XT, 2x512MB Corsair Value DDR2 533. Those parts are now in a brand spankin new Thermaltake Soprano case (which I HIGHLY reccomend, its a bargain at $75 but build quality and features are beyond top notch, rivaling and perhaps beating in some regards my $125 NZXT Nemesis Elite, its also got 2 of the 120MM fans found on the Big Typhoon cooling it down and it is damn silent!) anyways, I put it all together and took it to my dad's home office to test it out before I installed Windows, set up the RAID 1 array and shipped it off to his real office lol. When I powered it on all the fans inside were spinning fine and the green LED on the Asus mobo was on indicating it was getting power however nothing was getting displayed on the monitor, and I am fairly certain that the GPU works because it was in my brother's computer until last week and he was using it everyday so the only possibility is it may have gotten damaged when I took it out of his case but I doubt that. So basically what I'm asking for is a list of things that could cause a computer that seems to be working fine to not display anything on the monitor, all connections seem to be in order though maybe someone could give me a run down of some that I could have forgotten.....also the hard drives remained very cool and didnt ever make a sound, and although I only had the computer on for a few minutes and they have a 120MM intake blowing right over them I atleast expected some noise/heat so maybe they aren't working? (they're brand new and have never been tested but I doubt they are both DOA) Right when I first turn on the computer it makes the normal sounds of POST although it never gets to the part where the OS would load (since there is no OS installed yet lol) so I can't be sure if the hard drives just aren't being used (I dont see why they would) so does anyone have any ideas for me?

Oh, theres something I forgot and this seems really likely to me, there is a MOLEX (4 pin) connector on the mobo which is only needed during SLI so I left that unplugged BUT the 8 pin EATX plug is also not being used since I am using some really cheap (about $9) PSU that I got with my old old case (3 cases ago ) and it doesnt have an 8 pin or even a 4 pin connector! (didn't even have SATA power cables, I had to use an adapter!)

well going by your description your cheapo PSU would be suspect. before that though, you should make sure your video card is seated properly.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that the video card is seated properly because I took it out and put it back in 2 or 3 times and while it was in I also wiggled it around a bit just to make sure. Also, the powersupply used to power my system long ago but it hasn't been used in over a year so do you think it could have just died randomly due to inusage?

Well I looked again and the powersupply has a 4 pin ATX but no 8 pin, I plugged in the 4 pin just to see if it would work and it did! However there are some weird
"artifacts" in the BIOS and POST screens so I think it may have to do with it not receiving enough power. I had to shut down to install the 3rd hard drive but when I reboot I'll be sure to check out the BIOS health status.

LOL I just gonna suggest checking the ATX 12V connection, however you beat me to it.

Make yourself a 4pin to 8 pin adaptor. your gonna need the other 4 pins for proper power distribution on the mb.

Hmm, I checked and the 3.3v, 5v, 12v and vCore voltage are all at or slightly above what they should be so I'm going to forget about that and tackle a more pressing issue for now.

All 3 hard drives are detected in BIOS but when I install Windows it says setup couldn't detect any hard drives, press F3 to quit lol, what should I do? I have nVidia RAID enabled but only on drives 3 and 4, drive 1 is outside of the RAID array so I should be able to install Winows onto it as usual correct?

Actually, that connector is designed to allow people with 8 pin OR 4 pin to use the board. So no adapter is needed.
