audigy 4 versus audigy 2 - Page 3

OFF TOPIC, but --- Nice to see that you've taken your Opty 180 to 2.8Ghz, since we have very similar systems. I haven't had a chance to start oc this one yet...

What kind of 3dmark06 scores are you getting?

IMO the Audigy 4 is not all that different from an Audigy 2. But i have heard that the Audigy 2 is better for gaming as such. ( Im not sure how true that statement is, but even if it was you wouldnt be able to tell the difference.)

I've just upgraded to X Fi myself and not a single problem...not sure what's going on with yours tricknasty. As for the complaints for X Fi, I haven't seen much.
Not bad at all...

i run my opty @ 2.79 all the time, thats where it seems most stable.
I had it running at 2.88ghz and was playing bf2 for about 2 hours in a hot room and it crashed my computer. when i rebooted to bios my temp was 59 C so i turned the overclock down. these dual cores get pretty dang hot. I am thinking about taking the IHS off but i dont have the balls to do it yet.

i dont have a 3dmark06 score on it yet, but i will soon.
