Thermaltake Armor with the front mesh plates removed.

Look at the pic in my public profile to see it assembled.

Robilar - Did you add the side window fan or did it come with it? If you added it what is the best method for cutting through the Plexi?

Also with the extra fans you got mounted in the front what did you have to do to mount them besides buying extra fans?

Thanks

First, I used the thermaltake icages.

they cost about $25, take up 3 5.25 bays (but give you 3 3.5" internal bays) and include a 120mm led fan.

second, i cut a hole in the plexi with a hole cutter attachment on a cordless drill. I got the adjustable cutter for about $12 at home depot.

but wait!

new product from thermaltake. The A2400! which I am hunting down as we speak with a 15 DBA 67 CFM 25CM fan in the door! for armor or kandalf cases. Much better than my custom job.
http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/produc...2400/a2400.asp

Its pretty funny, I was oohing and aahing over the aerocool extreme engine case with a 25cm fan in the door and lookie, thermaltake made one just for me!

Its a thing of beauty.

Robilar - Thanks for the info! I might pull the trigger and order this case. But first things first, i gotta convince my wife that this purchase would "hopefully" drastically lower my temps as my Tsunami is only a week old .

If i order this case and i get a 5c more decrease on load temps and a cooler mobo temp that would satisfy me (More would be better). If i get a very minimal decrease i might be in trouble with my wife .

Thanks again for the info!

Been in that boat with the wife! My case temps are never more than 1C above room temperature ambient - ever. I have a digital thermometer inside the case hooked to the window and monitor it. Nothing I do can make the temps move (other than turning up the heat in my house!). With the new 25cm door, I have a hunch the case may be able to hover on the spot. I'm looking forward to it!

Update:

Well i installed the Thermaltake BT and a very nice drop in temps from my current setup, also fits nice in the Tsunami case.

With Arctic Freezer 64 Pro

CPU = 37c idle 47c full load
Mobo = 44c idle 47c full load (lapped an seated 3 different times to make sure i was seated correctly with AS5).

With Thermaltake BT

CPU = 32c idle 41c full load
Mobo = 41c idle 44c full load (Lapped and AS5)

A nice drop in CPU Temp and even the mobo The AS5 has not even cured yet, just got done installing it about a 1/2 hour ago. Hopefully it will drop even more

I am also going to intall a higher speed fan in place of the stock BT fan, hopefully that will help as well. Overall extremely happy with the results so far.
