Overclock.net Turns 2! - Page 10

Not concerned about the contest just wanted to share why OC.net is my home away from home and work (third home). When I first joined this site I had just finished building my first ever rig. Being a 478 intel based build it wasn't all I had hoped for which led me to this place. Low and behold after some reading and a few pointed questions about some things I didn't understand in less than one night i went from 3.2 (stock) running my divider at auto to running at 3.9 on air with idle temps of 36c and load of 44-48ish with a 1:1 divider with my ram at 2.5-3-3-5 totally stable on prime and memtest. The quides and FAQ's are impeccable for the most part. As long as you are not debating ATI vs. Nvidia or AMD vs Intel then for the most part the answers are helpful and informative. If Ive asked a question regardless of time of day its never and I mean never sat more than 5 min. without a reply. Thats the reason why OC.net is and will remain my hangout to keep me in the know. It also taught me a small lesson as well. The age of the members is in no way indicative of the level of help they may offer. On this site is the first time ive ever had a kid (yes kid) of 14 years old help me unscrew my comp.

Well, I'm glad that overclock.net has gotten pretty big size from the day it started. Although only 2 years have passed, overclock.net seems to gather a large body of people having the same interest...overclocking of course.

So congrats, I hope to see this again next year.

Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread :***:

It's ok, I would like to say happy belated birthday!

I remember the first birthday last year...time went by so fast.

Overclock.net is my home because it was where I first learned about making my computer better after my first build, how to overclock it and how to update drivers...stuff like that. Next was the next build with lots of recommendations, and they were all used to build my computer. This is the place I learned almost all I know about computers and am thankful of it

Hello! My 2 pence worth

I found this forum whilst looking around the net for common issues with the rig i have.

Once i had mooched around for a bit i decided to make my first post, which was answered in a matter of secs (no joke!) It is nice to find a forum where it is both active and frequented by knowledgable people who are more than willing to share what they know and in return I am more than happy to repay the favour!

Its nice to see people of all nationalities and ages all chipping in for the "common good" and its not biased towards AMD, NVidia etc which is a common downfall of the more specialised (or narrow minded!) forums.

Im glad that i have found this great forum and hope to use it as my main method of dealing with issues and helping people with theirs!

Anyway thats enough from me i think

Just thought I'd drop a line. I am about to build my first computer, and Overclock.net has been helpful in leading me in the right direction. I have learned a lot and am confident in what I am going to get.

Thanks Everyone on Overclock.net!

P.S. I can't believe this site has only been out for two years. Crazy!!!

Even though I've only been here for about a month, I can say this is possibly one of the best forums I have ever been on. The community is so friendly and knowledgeable, and will help with any question you need. I think I've found my place in the forum and I'm sure many of the other new members will too.

Happy 2 year anniversary Overclock.net!
