3700 san diego stepping

Thread Starter
I looked in cpu-z and found stepping-1, revision-sh-e4. Is this my cpu's stepping and if it is, how good is it for over clocking?

thnx

You can only find the actual stepping on the actual CPU. It's engraved on top

Yup, you'll have to pull the HSF off and wipe off the thermal grease to be able to read it.

okay, here is everything I found ada3700daa5bn, cabge, 0522xpbw, 1z6648nf50682. I'm guessing is one of these. Which one? and, is it any good for oc'ing? what can I expect from this processor?

CABGE, if I remember right that was a good one for overclocking. Search the forums with that string and you should be able to find some comparative overclocks with that stepping.

Hmm, from what I've read CABGE is the worst stepping you can get. Usually they max out at around 2.8GHz, if you get higher you'll be lucky. I guess it all depends on the week...

The Opteron CABGE is bad, I believe the 3700+ CABGE is pretty good. The KAB3E, KAB2E, and KABQEs are better.
