X800gto Agp =d!

Yeah so... Our family was having some money issues I guess around christmas (Dad was in between his contracting jobs) so I didn't get much. The only thing I really asked for was a new video card, and thats the ONLY thing I didn't get lol. Not saying I'm ungrateful or anything, just kind of sucked getting my RAM and nothing else.

Well my dad said he'd order me one in the 170$ range. I'm not going to push the price any higher, as I already feel bad for asking (He's got the money though so it doesn't matter I suppose.). I'm pretty set on the X800GTO - AGP version.

But why... why couldn't they make a card for 170 bucks that is that good AND has SM3.0...

I like pretty shader effects... But yeah, I think this will KILL the X1600PRO I was looking at. That had SM3.0, but like 12GB Bandwidth, compared to this one thats in the high 20's I think? Plus it's got unlockable pipes I hear (50/50 Chance? Sounds good )

So what do you guys think? And so help me if one of you mention the 6800GS...

Awww dude, I'm sooo sorry.

Idiot = Me.

This is (in my opinion) what you should get; From what I've read the X800PRO beats out the X1600PRO AGP, so I was looking around on newegg and I found a refurbished (not bad) X800PRO for $170.

[X800PRO REFURBISHED: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16814121519R]

I don't think that you'll be dissapointed with the card, and by all means if you want to go nVidia just ask. But right now I've come to a new realization that ATi dosen't suck that bad (also the fact that I'm getting a free ATi card). But I still think that all nVidia cards PRE X1K Series PWND ATi...

Ehh...
I would TOTALLY go for that, but it's OEM... Which means no cables and stuff D=!

Hmmm...
The specs are nicer, but only by a bit.
Edging the GTO out in almost everything except for Bandwidth and Memory Speed.
What do you think?

Well you know what?
Now that I think about, the only thing I see in the cables etc category is:
Some crappy drivers disc, and an S-Video Cable, I've got everything else.

So w00t! I'm going to order the X800PRO Next week! =D! Thanks for the find man, I appreciate it! Repssss+ for joo!

if you dont need vivo go for the x800gto agp for 170

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102609

higher clocks
My X800Pro (non-vivo) clocks up to 567/590 from stock speeds of 475/450. Even at slightly lower speeds (560/580) it will give performance that exceeds that of the X800XTPE.

If you get an X800Pro, try your best to get the VIVO version, which will give you a pretty good chance to unlock the extra piplines. If you can get the extra piplines unlocked and can clock it high enough, you could easily have an X850XT or even an X850XTPE on your hands, all for the price of an X800Pro.

Good Luck!
