The Royal Navy: Rising from the Depths - Page 301

Especially since they should only be $600 and PSUs have been artificially inflated by the cryptocraze as well.

I'd love to get some more out of my 2600k but it wouldn't really make much of a difference to the team. The GPU divisions are where the points are at and I can't run my Titans 24/7. I do still have my 580 Lightning if that would help any...

Maybe you and cuda can switch places. I see cuda failed another wu today. What did you do with your 3930k when you upgraded to 4930k?

It was a 3960X and I sold it. I'd be down to switch places if need be.

How do you like the 4930k?  What voltage are you using for 4.7Ghz?  I've been meaning to go pick one up to replace my 3930k (poor clocker, and weak IMC).

The 4930K is a bit disappointing tbh but that's mostly due to the fact that I got a very average clocker. 4.7GHz takes 1.48-1.5V for P95 stability and I haven't managed to get to 4.8GHz at ANY voltage so far. As is at 4.7GHz it is slightly slower in Cinebench than my 3960X was at 5GHz so if I could get 4.8GHz out of it it would likely be faster than a 5GHz 3960X. The advantage of course is that the 5GHz 3960X needed over 1.57V for stability whereas the 4930K only needs 1.48V for similar performance. Now a good clocking 4930K is a way better chip than a 3930K but good clocking IB-E's are more rare than good clocking SB-E's in my experience.

Woah, thems some voltage yo.  I've only had my 3930k up to 4.8ghz before, and it took like 1.46V or so, but for that I had to hang my radiator out the window in the winter to get it cool enough.  I degraded it over time folding 24/7 @ 4.8ghz once spring came, never really payed attention to it, and it was probably folding for a good week or so @ 85-95C.  Now it doesn't like to do over 4.6ghz at really any voltage I've tried.  I just run it stock right now, or the Asus "Optimized Defaults", which still goes up to 1.30V in CPU-Z under load.

My main problem with my particular 3930k is it won't run my RAM at its rated XMP 2400mhz profile.  I think the IMC is supposed to be better on the 4930Ks, so I'm hoping I can at least run my RAM @ 2400mhz, and a descent 4.5Ghz OC under 1.38V would be nice, something I can manage with a 240 rad and EK Supremacy block.

Haven't been able to test out the IMC on my 4930K as I'm still running my weak 1866MHz Patriot's OC'd to 2133MHz. Had intended to go with 2666MHz memory when I got the 4930K but haven't been able to pull the trigger as of yet...

Edibrac is taking over the GPU-E slot with his 2x670's applaud.gif so now we need of a cpu-wild replacement
