yeah .. I have exhaust fan and side fan before. the side fan originally was suck the air from in side and blow it out. I turned it around to get the cold air out side blow directly to the Zalman HSF fins and I got about 2 degree drop off.
Like I say. with normal browsing internet and reading email etc... my temp about 42-44, 45 sometimes, with load such as watch movie, edit video clips then the load raise up to 49 sometimes to 52.
Alot people get around 36-38 witn idle and 40-42 with load.

ok... but what i want to know, is what other fans you have besides the side fan... do you have a fan in the fron of the case? one in the rear?... let me know...

intake = blowing air in
exhaust = blowing air out

ok....do you have any large tubing or ducting to maybe direct the cool air from te side fan to the zalman... this may help a little more, but i think its time to upgrade for i have not heard too many great things about the zalman 7700....

you may wanna consider your cooling options, while WC is just about the best (next to phase) there are much better air coolers out such as the TT Big Typhoon($55), or the Thermalright XP-90c($45w/fan)... both of those will probably give you mid to low 40's load temp.... maybe better
WC will give you high 30's to low 40's if you get a really nice custom one,which will cost around $200-300...

my Ambient temp around 68-71F and yes... I did try five times, take out clean it up very good then put the AS5 on small drop as a rice size ( uncooked) then use the razor blade spread AS5 out really thin and install the HSF on ... but still did not get any improvement.
