Zalman air cooling Vs Kingwin Arctic Liquid Cooler - Page 3

wow, that's crazy, i have the same cooling setup, except my window fan is directly over my 9500.

3700+ @ 3Ghz - 1.525v, and I idle at 31C, same room temps as yours.

that's really weird, especially because you have properly seated your heatsink. Only thing i can think of is to put a hole in your case and add another fan straight over the 9500.... although that shouldn't account for a ~14C difference between my temps and yours

your window fan set up to do an exhaust or intake ?
The case fan on the side should always be set up for intake.

Only exception would be a blowhole or low cfm fan set in the upper front corner to act as a balance when high volumes of air5 are being inducted into the case.

I will buy a big 120mm fan to replace the 80mm side fan maybe it help the temp goes down.
About the AS5, someone said have to spread the compound all around the CPU very thin layer, and some other told do NOT spread the compound .
I did try both ways but no luck at all . but as I experience with the compound spread out, the temps was about 2-3 degree lower than without spread the compount out

How do you get 31C on idle ? ... My idle at least 40C is the lowest one ...
I just install 2 fans 120mm, high velocity, one for the front intake and one to replace the 80mm fans on the side to blow the air directly to zalman HSF
and I got about 4 degrees drop at first five minutes then after that is back up to 44 as normal used ( browse internet and reading email)
I am so disapointed about my temps ...
