AMD Super Budget Build (pics) - Page 2

Thanks fellas.

A few updates:

Its pretty much completed now since I got almost everything I need.

Acer 20inch Monitor ($75 shipped)
Zalman 9700 (gift from brother but $8 for AMD bracket since he lost his)

And I am considering a new case since white looks pretty damn ugly especially since all the other accessories are black (monitor, keyboard, mouse etc).

Trying to keep it as cheap as possible so what do you guys think of this case

Well good news for me... went to microcenter and was able to snag a Xion AXP600 Mid Tower case for $20... it was open box but still came with everything.

Overall awesome case for what I paid.

Here are some pics

Now just waiting for the AM2 bracket for the Zalman 9700 and also my 9800GT and I will have a pretty baller secondary PC

How much is the total now? It's closer to $250, isn't it? Anyway, this is amazing - it's better than my current computer -_-

EDIT: the system in my sig is a work in progress, it's not what I was referring to when I said "my current computer"

Since I am kind of a computer nerd I can't help but upgrade a few things here and there to make this PC a lot better.

Since the last post I have added the following: Zalman 9700 HSF and a WD Raptor 150GB.

I bought both of these from my brother for a combined $50

So let me add everything up

$120 for CPU and Mobo
$20 case
$35 for PSU
$10 for HDD
$25 Raptor
$25 for Zalman 9700
$50 for 9800GT (still at my apt and not installed)
$75 for 20" LCD monitor

total = $350 for a full quadcore PC w/ monitor that can game. Not bad... not bad at all.

and some new pics

The fact that you unlock the 3rd and 4th core sweetened the deal better!

yep they are... the bottom of the ram glow blue while on top they have different colors depending on how much the ram is being utilized. its pretty nifty but I am not a big LED person but hey they were given to me free so beggers can't be choosers.

Alright so I think I am finally happy with the PC.

I got my 9800GT installed and also decided to use my Zalman Reserator for both the CPU and GPU.

Load temps for the CPU @ 3.8ghz and unlocked are 40c and the GPU maxes out 55c. Pretty damn impressive for a fanless solution.

Also picked up some Mushkin 2 x 2GB DDR2 1000 ram on the forums to make the PC even faster. Honestly if I had an SSD in here I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this PC and my main i7 one.

Here are some crappy cell phone pics since I forgot my camera at my apartment.
