Hell I'm looking forward to them at least. Though they're plenty far off I'm sure.

Black Mesa Source maybe?

After Crysis revenues failed, everyone pretty much jumped the ship of "high profile - high graphics PC exclusives" and started making episodes for outdated source/wow engine instead, because it makes more profit.

Devs release Crysis: everyone starts whinning.
Valve release Ep 3.: everyone is like "woo hoo another map pack on 5 year old source einge, graphics doesn't matter only game play matters yay"

There are also some crapo games on steam, like ghost sniper or something like that, I doubt they are any good though they had 0 marketing effort.

I read the recommended requirements for mafia 2, and if they're correct we have hope.

REALLY....................you are going to knock a game you know absolutely zero about.

Crysis flopped not because of the requirements, it flopped because of the gameplay. PC gamers realized it sucked, and it flopped. So crysis is now coming out on consoles where Hype is what sells a game.

There are tons of PC exclusive games that manage to look incredibly good. The witcher(it was ported to xbox long afer release). Zeno Clash, Company of heros, Dow 1 and 2. Red orchestra 2 is looking fantastic.

It's all a fad. Like always, the latest consoles dominate for just a short few years. With all this joke Kinect/Move crap that's coming to the consoles, I'm pretty hopeful of PC moving up again soon. I sincerely hope that all this motion control crap destroys the profits they all hoped for. I really love seeing all opposing sides failing miserably. All I really ask for is that BF3 is what BF2 was 5 years ago, with much improved graphics, physics, performance, and maintenance. Honestly I think EA was quite lazy with BF2 patching, especially with their last patch.

I think the biggest failure of all is going to be the supposed 3d capability of Crysis 2 on xbox 360. HOW can they do that on such a dated system? Maybe turn down the quality settings to unbearable, or original xbox/ps2 quality? Downgrade the entire engines graphic capabilities? I hope the extents the game developers go to in order to deliver BULL***** hype that is well below what the pc is/was capable of doing, CRUCIFIES their sales pitch and forces them back into pc like you said. I'm hoping by 2011/2012 game developers will take advantage of the repeatedly mediocre top end performance consoles have been showing and start making pc only titles that simply don't work on a console. But I know it'll happen sooner or later like you say.

It HAS to. It absolutely just HAS to happen. It wouldn't make sense for PC gaming to remain so weak with the huge leaps towards 4/6/even 12 core CPUs we have coming up, and ridiculous video cards like the 1536MB GTX 480.

Reasons why its worth it to be a PC gamer

http://adrianwerner.wordpress.com/games-of-2010/

There you go OP, scan that list. Indie devs is where it's at and its from Indie devs where we will see the next big next gen PC games. Not from the old school devs like ID and EPIC who have gotten long in the tooth and IMO have stalled on being innovative so now cater to consoles.

sorry ...but there just arent any good pc games being made anymore...and there probably will never be again... that is why i am only upgrading my pc one last time when the new graphics cards hit the market and then never again...the game releases cant keep up with the hardware releases..so there is no point in having a sweet ass rigg anymore...cause you wont have anything worth playing..

i already said D3 is going to consume me in its awesomeness and ill never play any other games again..cause there probably wont be anything anyways...
