y not go with a mobile and get another board and have 1mb L2 and overclock it
its only about 90 for a athlon 2800+ or get a different 1 for cheaper..thats what i did and it runs awsome...its a cheap ECS but has decent OC options.

The only changes made was doubling the RAM and getting the 256MB 9600PRO. The difference was only $1 between getting a 128MB vs a 256MB and the extra RAM only added another $33.00. When the parts show up and I have time to get everything assembled and setup I'll post some before and after overclocking results for everyone. I'm proud of myself for going through and doing it. I can't tell you guys how many times I've talked myself out of doing this.

I have tested both a N-vidia 6600 256mb and a ATI Radeon 9600 NP 256mb. i tested them overclocked and stock. The 9600 NP wooped the 6600 in all test. expically when they were both overclocked 2 max without artifacts. Also the 9600 Pro's can b Flashed 2 XTs. I have the 9600 NP at the moment. and i turned that into a XT. with the stock cooling. My computer isn't the best yet i can run NFS:MW Black Edition at 1024x768 maxed out graphic setting. and since u have a better CPU and twice as much memory. your PC should run it well. BTW from what i have seen. ATI make a better AGP card and N-vidia Make a better PCI-E card. BTW nice price on the machine. I got mine 4 about the same 2 years back, but then again i have "contacts". lol if u get what i mean. legal ones though. I also welcome u back 2 the Gaming World. i know u will enjoy yourself

Feels good to know that I got the best value on my hardware for the money that I had. Parts should be here Tuesday. Hopefully the commute home won't totally suck that day so I can get things assembled and get XP on it by nights end. We'll see.

Oh my my my....
I am POSITIVE you are only talking... from guessing. A 9600 can NOT beat a 6600... It would have to be a cold day in hell....... Almost everything you posted is false... please back up your statments with

EDIT sorry for the double post...
