I'm building my roomate a new computer, and since we are engineers we need computers that are good for doing 3d solid modeling. before I got my 6800GS, and had a 9800pro, pro/engineer would not run good. I read that it was because it was based on open GL 1.5 (can anyone back this up). so I got a 6800GS and it works fine now. now for my roomates computer, I wanted to get something with 16 pipes and the 6800 and 7800 nvidia cards seem to be too expensive for his buget. I saw that x850xt was only $168 and has open GL 2. do you think this card can run 3d solid modeling applications well?
