Budget gfx card?

Thread Starter
I need a decent agp card (anything better than an 8500) for under $100. All I play is counterstrike, I just want to get rid of that annoying lag without spending a bundle.

The best I found for less than $100 (including shipping) is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102600 ,a 9600XT. If you know of/can find anything better, please post!

(Note: I will ignore any and all "for just a few dollars more" posts. This is a fixed budget)

if you can find one give or take $30 (I usually think in £££) 6600GT but if my currency is way out then you can defo get a 9800pro for that price these days and you can clock them to an XT if you get the right core................bare in mind though that CS:S as HL2 is processor dependant or in easy terms the graphics and gameplay are split 50/50 between processor/GPU, there is a good chance that the lag your getting is down to your processor not your GPU. A good way to test this is turn down your graphic settings and see if the lag is still present

Hope this helps

Also Byson, right. I think your CPU will bottleneck your new graphics card
