gskill or keep my mushkin?

Thread Starter
I was thinking of replacing my mushkin extreme 2gb dual with gskill extreme 2gb dual. What do u guys think would be better? Cause i can't get my mushkin over 268 fsb with 3-4-4-8 timings and my ht at 3x. Do u think that the gskill will get me a higher overclock with same timings or less. Both are ddr500. Mushkin timings at ddr500 are 3-4-3-8 and gskill at 3-4-4-8.Need help on making a decision.

If you're going over DDR500 I've seen people run the G.SKill at 3-4-3-8. You aren't going to notice that much between either timing. You notice a lot more in the CAS timings than anything else. The others are their mainly for stability.

The G.SKill will get to 275 easily depending on the set you get. I've seen some that cant get that high and I've seen others get to 292MHz. It's really all about the set you get

you probably won't notice a whole lot of difference as both use Samsung UCCC IC's... people have been getting better oc's w/ the g.skill though so it's really your call

Do NOT get the G.Skill the newer batches are not as good. It seems alot of people are having trouble even getting to run at 250 MHz.

I just got some and I have having a terrible time with it. Seems like 260 MHz is my max and it isn't completely stable. I am still playing with it, but the general concensus is that the newer batches will not reach 270 MHz
