Quick Voltage question!

Thread Starter
I am running my 3200 at 2.45, but Prime95 fails after a few seconds (it says hardware failure) My RAM is running on a divider at 204 mhz.

Should my next step be an increase in voltage?

It is currently running at 1.5v

I increased the voltage to 1.55, but get the same results.........the DImm voltage is at 2.70.......what next????

Please help, someone.

Yes. Though, I would also download MemTest86 and run it to make sure your memory subsystem is able to run at the current settings (especially recommended if you have budget line RAM).

I was running the memory at 225mhz with the HTT at 225 on a 1:1, and it would run Prime95 as long as I wanted.....would this make a difference??

The RAM is supposed to be good with overclocks, the stock timings are 2-2-3-5

if thats the pdp patriot stuff 2-3-2-5 1T i hit around ddr 505 (fsb 252) with 2.7 volts and 3-4-4-8 timings stable without active cooling. with the active cooling i can drag them down to 2.5-3-4-6. that doesnt mean urs will do that though....

When I run Prime95 the error msg says: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expectd less that 0.4"

What the hell does this mean??

This doesn't really matter to your situation, since you are running the CPU at 2250 instead of 2450 as you said in your first post. You must realize that, sometimes, you happen across a bum overclocking CPU, and sometimes you get a good one.

When you are running at 245HTT, did you increase your chipset voltage?

Yes, i just increased the chipset voltage to 1.6...it still would only run p95 for about 10 seconds...should I go higher?? I just don't want to make the mistake of really screwing something up.

That means that Prime failed to produce the calculation that it was expecting, due to your CPU/Chipset/Memory subsystem erroring.

On the chipset voltage, you are safe to up to 1.75-1.8v...
