3700 + A8N32 Deluxe, 7900GT, Raid 0

Thread Starter
Heres the setup:

I was able to boot with:

11x210 = 2310
Ram at 200 (3-3-3-8)
PCI-E @ 100

Loaded OS and then crashed. PEG Link Mode (Disabled). Cool and Quiet (Disabled).

Anyone have any ideas on where to move next?

We have nearly the same system!

Very first time I overclocked mine it went to 255x11 @2805MHz without blinking an eye. It was way too easy. The temps stayed at 31c idle too. You should have no problems OC'ing. I know it can go higher but I haven't tried yet with this motherboard (I just got it to replace a A8N SLI)

Set your Peg Link to auto, set your vcore to 1.41 put your ram on a divider or set a limit to 200MHz. Set your HT to x4 and try 250x11 and see what you get. If it is good bump up your FSB to 255 and test, you should be stable at 2.8GHz These are my settings that I tried and worked. With your ram on a divider you can use stock timmings of 2-2-2-5 try that!

Do you think this will be an issue? I have another 7900 coming for SLI.

http://www.viperlair.com/reviews/cpu...a8n32/p3.shtml

For the most part, we saw very little improvement going from SLI X8 to SLI X16. There was a slight bump in scores in Far Cry, but that was it. We did ping NVIDIA about this, and this was their response.

"Please check your BIOS settings to ensure that you have the correct HyperTransport settings. The HT links should be 16/16 in both directions and the frequency should be 1,000MHz (5x multiplier). Set these manually instead of using the Auto settings to ensure you are getting full performance from those buses.

I had 7800GT's running SLI on the A8N32 and it was flawless. When I get my second 7900GTX, I'll post results. The A8N32 is designed specifically for SLI performance. Read the analysis at Anandtech, HardOCP, and Tom's Hardware. They all tested the board in SLI. HardOCP definitively stated that its the fastest SLI board they have ever tested.

also may sure you have the 1103 bios as well.

I was just curious if the changing the multiplier from 5x to 4x would degrade SLI performance. As long at the frequency is 1000MHz, would SLI performance not be affected?

Well I'm not sure how much the HyperTansport system would affect SLi performance directly, but if it is below 900Mhz (10% performance reduction) I would imagine you would see some marginal drop in SLi performance. This would be because when the processor need the bandwidth to get more out of the memory, it would be lacking. So 4 x 200Mhz FSB = 800Mhz HT. But ideally you would make up the loss of lowering the HT multiplier by raising the FSB (i.e. 4 x 250Mhz FSB = Gets you back at 1000Mhz. Also going over 1100Mhz will probably cause stability issues as well.

I'm a Jackass! In previous attempts I kept leaving the SB to NB Frequency at x2. I changed it to x4 and voilà!
